I jumped immediately to processes and KPIs. It was a mistake.
"They" told me, this creates business growth.
But, if you do this too soon.
You'll create more problems for yourself and business.
I blew a lot of capital learning this
Why?
Here are the key things that you as the CEO, founder or owner need to have in place first.
Ask yourself:
1: Does your product or service meet a customer need
and not a nice to have.
2: Can you deliver it profitability. Are you going to build
an asset as you grow or a liability.
3: Have you personally sold the product and can
recreate the steps that work.
4: Do you have the skillsets in your team that can
execute these different steps?
5: Have you tested your lead generation channels and
have this working in a predictably.
6: Are the customers fans of your offerings? how are you
delivering the service consistently.
Process, KPI and metrics are tools to grow and they are key after you have the basics in place.
But, if you don't have the basics right. The processes and KPI won't work. Take time to solidify your core.
And then move to growing.

There is an exciting industry “alt data” with tons of 3rd party data including foot traffic and many more.
If you’re interested in this space DM me to discuss.
Met a guy whose company measures foot traffic and sells it to real estate companies and small businesses.
How?
Some apps on your phone track your location.
Those apps sell your (anonymized) data to his company.
His co aggregates it, packages it, and sells it to their clients.
@jasonlk Yup, natural technology evolution. Embrace the new tech and get good at using it in your business.
Platform -> Use Case -> Enhanced Use Cases
@yvetteowo Always get a deposit, pre-payment or refundable deposit. This is clear indicator of a confirmed value exchange.
This may seem hard at first or if you’re need of sales but completely market for most b2b services.
@jasonlk Own it and get better at hiring leveraging the experience of your board - and do it quickly.
If you’re trying to outwork this problem you’ve regressed the company to the last know working org structure.
@jjen_abel The “yo, check this out” is a great benchmark.
There needs to be a natural attraction that the buyers are willing to spread across the organizations.
Vs. the polite node, “this is interesting”. Crickets…
@jasonlk Short succinct bullets work the best.
Have the discovery done before engaging with the CEO.
And time to value is key assuming you have a well developed problem -> solution -> value story.
