@thameswater@Ofwat Hosepipe ban. Don’t waste water. While we’re about it give us more money.
Meanwhile this has been pissing out since Tuesday, 200 yards from my house.
5 days, no action. Time for this con to stop.
Renationalise now
#OnThisDay, 75 years ago, the European Convention on Human Rights was opened for signature in Rome.
The European Convention on Human Rights impacts over 700 million people in Europe, safeguarding our fundamental freedoms.
Happy anniversary, #ECHR!
Just a tiny number of the things we owned and the recent Tories sold off
If I went back to 1980 and gave you the full list you’d feel sick about it
None of us gained a thing except the super rich
Inequality through the roof.

Not again! I have NOT given my permission to be used in political adverts. This is NOT an endorsement by me in any way. I maintain strict party neutrality and am unhappy at the weaponizing of my reputation in this way.
While this isn't as bad as the first terrible representation – which said it this about tax - there's still a misdirection. As I’ve already stated, in that private conversation I was referring to Labour hoping to make a positive change I’ve been campaigning for, but it didn’t want to lock it in the manifesto as it can’t promise to deliver.
NO party’s manifesto tells the full story. ALL parties have things they hope to do but that aren’t in manifestos – as they can’t guarantee to deliver. The idea that Labour is an outlier for that is preposterous.
Fifteen years. Five prime ministers, seven chancellors, eight foreign secretaries, twelve culture secretaries and sixteen housing ministers.
A thread, for #RantyTuesday.
- First Government to lower living standards
- inflation back on target due to fallig energy costs not your policy as was predicted in June 2022 with Johnson as PM and you not having lost the leadership contest
- stagnation
- furlough was a union idea and you excluded 3.8nilion people
- highest tax burden in 70 years
- 25 tax rises
- now you pretend you are a tax cutter and gaslight pensioners you are doing them a favour when it is your frozen thresholds that put them in the tax bracket to start with
- meanwhile National debt trebled to £2.7trillion
- schools crunble
- NHS waiting lists of over 7.6million and worst satisfaction ratings ever
- prisons full, prisoners released early and huge Court backlogs
- total failure of asylum process
THAT is what you have done
97%+ of over 65s are registered to vote. Only 2/3s of 18-24 year olds are on the register. If you turn 18 on or before 4th July you can register to vote right now.
Do not lose your democratic birthright! It matters so much.
It only takes 5 minutes.

URGENT! Pls share. The last chance to register to vote in the General Election is 11.59pm tomorrow Tue 18 June. Potentially 8m aren't registered at their current address. Here's 4 key facts...
1) You can do it online here https://t.co/i4FhJoAXfK
2) It's good for your finances. Not being on electoral roll can make it more difficult to be accepted for credit products like bank accounts or mortgages.
3) You can opt out of the 'Open Register' (which allows your info to be sold on) which will stop you getting junk mail marketing )
4) You'll need ID when you do vote (not to register) if you don't have it, you can get it free until Wed 26 June https://t.co/9bfL3hw3CV
Before the Tory Manifesto comes out tomorrow, a reminder of the 2019 Manifesto.
Promises: 42.
Delivered: 2, and 1 of those only partially.
In addition, Tories have reneged, reversed, or abandoned 362 policies pledges and promises.
Don’t. Believe. A. Word.
