Members of former prime minister Imran Khan's family, including his three sisters, as well as activists from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been arbitrarily detained.

The targeting of his family and PTI party activists is a flagrant violation of their rights to liberty, freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly. Such actions speak to the severity of the current restrictions in Pakistan.

Amnesty International calls on the Pakistani authorities to immediately release Imran Khan’s relatives and PTI workers, who have been targeted simply for their familial ties, political affiliation and plans to protest.

Zulfikar Bukhari, international relations adviser to Imran Khan, says he fears further state backlash against a protest march planned by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, the party of Pakistan's jailed former PM Imran Khan.

Pakistani security have in the past 24 hours arrested and detained Khan's sisters for 30 days as well as raiding properties of other family members.

“Never in the history of Pakistan has any political leader been subjected to the treatment that I am currently enduring. Nawaz Sharif committed corruption worth billions and was nevertheless granted every possible comfort in prison. In contrast, never before has the innocent and apolitical spouse of a political figure been imprisoned under such inhumane conditions as those imposed upon Bushra Bibi.

I am enduring the harshest prison term in the country’s history solely for the supremacy of the Constitution and in service of my nation. The level of oppression and authoritarianism is such that even the water I have for ablution is filthy and contaminated with dirt, unfit for any human being. Books sent to me by my family have been withheld for months. Access to television and newspapers has also been suspended. I have spent countless hours re-reading the same old books, but now even those are no longer available.

All my basic human rights have been violated. Even the minimum facilities accorded to ordinary prisoners under the law and the jail manual are denied to me. Despite repeated requests, I have not been allowed to speak to my children. Political meetings have also been restricted; I am only permitted to meet certain ‘choice individuals’, while all other interactions are barred.

I am waging a battle against a 78-year-old system, and my greatest success is that despite unprecedented oppression, the public stands firmly with me.

On February 8th (2024), the people expressed their trust in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf by voting for you even in the absence of an electoral symbol. After such a clear mandate, it is the moral and political responsibility of every party member to become the voice of the people. It will be nothing short of disgraceful and condemnable if PTI leaders waste time on internal conflicts at this critical juncture. Anyone found engaging in factionalism within the party will be expelled. I am fighting for the future of our generations, and every sacrifice I make is for that cause. To create rifts within the party at this time would be a direct betrayal of my mission and vision.

The so-called government formed through Form 47 has crippled the judiciary through the 26th Constitutional Amendment. The way biased judges are now delivering blatantly unjust verdicts under these courts is visible to the entire nation. We must launch a robust campaign to liberate the judiciary, for no nation can survive, let alone progress, without judicial independence.”

“We have knocked on every door, but no one has listened. I had asked for dialogue only once, and that too was conditional upon commissions to investigate the events of November 26th (2024) and May 9th (2023) being formed. It was Asim Munir who ordered the shooting of unarmed civilians on November 26th. I reiterate there is no longer any room for dialogue because this group has completely hijacked the entire system.

I have instructed Barrister Gohar, Salman Akram Raja, Ali Amin Gandapur, and Junaid Akbar to ensure the protest movement runs with full force. The objective of this movement must be the restoration of justice, the supremacy of law, and the protection of the Constitution. If we fail to raise our voices in the streets, this group of oppressors will gradually finish off our parliamentary party as well. I am standing firm; all of you must also stand firm.

Eighty percent of the people of Pakistan stand with me and we are entitled to fight for our rights. I am aware that 90% of the electoral fraud took place between polling and the compilation of results. I campaigned for the implementation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for two years. If EVMs had been used on February 8th (2024), the game would have ended there and then. I still say today: if transparent elections are desired, EVMs must be introduced, and rigging will end once and for all.”

فوجی قیادت کے کہنے پر آئی ایس آئی نے ایک افغانی کو خان صاحب کو مارنے کا ٹاسک دیا، جب میں نے پریس کانفرنس میں اس سازش کا پردہ فاش کیا تو آئی ایس آئی اسلام آباد سیکٹر نے پریس کلب میں ایک افغانی کی پریس کانفرنس رکھوائی اور شام کو پرائم ٹائم ٹی وی پروگرام میں بیانیے کے لیے بھجوایا گیا۔ میں نے کسی کا نام نہیں لیا تھا، مگر یہ جانتے تھے کس کا ذکر ہورہا ہے۔
صوابی میں ہیلی کاپٹر گرانے کا پلان اکسپوز ہوا جس کے لیے ڈبل ایجنٹ ہائیر کیا گیا تھا، جو بعد میں مارا گیا۔ اس کے بعد ہیلی کاپٹر میں غلط فیول بھروایا گیا اور رپورٹ آج تک سامنے نہ آسکی۔ اٹھارہ مارچ کو ڈیتھ ٹریپ بچھایا گیا اور جب ناکام ہوا تو پولیس افسر کو گالیاں دی گئیں کہ عمران خان کیسے بچ کر نکل گیا۔اس کے علاوہ متعدد کوششیں ہوئیں۔
گزشتہ تین سال سے عمران خان جیل میں ہیں اور مسلسل ان کی صحت کے ساتھ مذاق کیا جا رہا ہے۔ عسکری خبریں چلوانے والا میڈیا یہ کیوں بُھول رہا ہے کہ آپ پاکستان کے سب سے عظیم بیٹے عمران خان کی زندگی سے کھیلنے میں حصہ دار بن رہے ہو؟ عمران خان کی صحت کے حوالے سے سوال اٹھانے کو سیاست کا نام کیسے دیا جا سکتا ہے؟ کیوں ان کے ڈاکٹرز سے ملاقات نہیں ہو رہی؟ کیوں ان کی فیملی سے ملاقات نہیں ہو رہی؟ کیوں انہیں ہسپتال نہیں منتقل کیا جا رہا؟
آخر ایسا کیا گیا ہے جس کو چھپایا جا رہا ہے؟
ہاں خان صاحب نے جب جیل میں عاصم لاء اور ذہنی مریض کا ذکر کیا تو عاصم منیر نے سب کے سامنے کہا کہ عاصم لاء ہے تو ہے، اب بتاتا ہوں عاصم لاء اور ذہنی مریض کیا ہوتا ہے۔
اسی غصے میں ڈی چوک میں خون ریزی کا اقبال جرم کرتے ہوئے یہ بھی کہا کہ بتایا تھا سنگجانی سے آگے مت بڑھو، کیا اکھاڑ لیا صرف ہم سے لوگ ہی مروائے نا۔ ”پھر کوشش کریں اسلام آباد آنے کی، اس دفعہ اٹک پل پر کھڑے ہوکر ماریں گے، ویسے بھی ڈی چوک میں مروا تو دئیے“۔
تو کیا اس غصے میں ہی کچھ ایسا کیا گیا ہے، جس کو چھپایا جا رہا ہے؟

It is so unfortunate to see how @ImranKhanPTI is being treated by his own people. A man who literally gave up everything for the betterment of his people cannot even meet his family or his doctors & lawyers. I have no words to express how disappointed I am at the whole set up in Pakistan that works against IK.
