@Jon__Reed @matthguthrie From an academic standpoint yes. But not athletically. It did provide an advantage but not as much as people say. Now Vanderbilt is at the disadvantage. But that’s good for $, NCAA, SEC. A better UT is better nationally than a better VU. Sad for me lol good you.

@Jon__Reed @matthguthrie Then factor in academic requirements, which is extremely rigorous at Vanderbilt compared to state schools in the SEC. There’s just so much more to the context than the scholarship argument.

@Jon__Reed @matthguthrie All while maintaining Ivy League level academics. It’s not like we were able to get state school kids. We couldn’t just add any baseball recruit that we wanted. And again, most of our success came developing players, not just getting top recruits.

@Jon__Reed @matthguthrie The fact of the matter is Corbin developed guys at an alarming rate. Still is, but just on the pitching & defensive side is all. Some of the studs we turned out weren't exactly prominent recruits. The rolls have reversed & UT is doing that now. Saying loophole is just lazy shade.

Now tbh you an reverse it and say unfair loophole of state schools $$$$ vs private schools and acceptation rate.

@VolsAF I don't disagree with that. We have probably approached not being able to tout the 2014 title. 2019 is still recent considering we have 5 different SEC teams winning nattys. Currently, I'd love your 5 Supers in a row don't get me wrong. But I'd rather have 14,19 than 24,5 Supers.

@NOTtimcorbin @aria_gerson I think you mean won't. He is most likely going in the top 25 of the draft. As is Gamble, and Hernandez is going in the top 5 so I'd say none of those 3 are coming unfortunately. de Brun is a HUGE need though.

@aria_gerson Flemming is also draft eligible and considered a 2nd round pick. Hopefully we can fend off him signing with a team. MLB has him listed 80th overall prospect.
