Saying the product of the kidneys is urine is like saying the product of a factory is pollution. Urine is a by-product. The product is homeostasis

ASN Kidney News June 2026 Finally, an RCT in Hyponatremia Management: A “HIT” or a Miss?

We assume targeting B cells means depleting as many as possible.
IgAN says otherwise. Rituximab wipes out circulating CD20+ → no effect. Blocking APRIL/BAFF hits the right cell → eGFR slope ≈ physiologic decline.
It wasn’t depth. It was aim.

Ken, in August 1998 RotaShield rota virus vaccine was approved and incorporated into the routine vaccine schedule. Doctors noticed an increase in intussusception after the vaccination and within a year the vaccine was no longer recommended and by October 1999 the drug was pulled from the market.
Doctors and this "organized group" did not stand in the way for criticism of a vaccine that caused actual harm (it was rare, about 100 cases vs an estimated 1.5 million administrations of RotaShield)
@kidney_boy All physicians and scientists need to stand up for truth. The present administration is gutting research, and disregarding science. We cannot let this happen.
🧵 Presented today at #ERA26:
Among adults with chronic #kidney#disease (#CKD) due to glomerular diseases, finerenone slowed eGFR decline, reduced albuminuria, and lowered risk of kidney failure, with consistent benefits across disease subtypes and in those using #SGLT2 inhibitors.

@kidney_boy It's catchy though, kinda makes me want to go learn about hyponatremia. Somehow you, @NephRodby, and the @BookBurton team has made it fascinating (even to non-nephs like me!)
😃🙏🏻 Honored to meet Professor Jürgen Floege, Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Kidney Journal (CKJ), in person at ERA 2026, in Glasgow, UK @CKJsocial@ERAkidney
It was inspiring to hear his overview of CKJ’s impressive achievements over the past year and its exciting future direction. Under his leadership, CKJ continues to reach new heights in scientific quality, global influence, and academic impact, becoming one of the leading journals in nephrology. We are proud to support CKJ through peer review and scientific collaboration, helping advance kidney research, education, and patient care worldwide.

ASN has released the program this year's #KidneyWk and I always thought they should lean into controversy, but this is going over the line.
