Kiln 1.3 is out: three releases this week, 1.3.0 to 1.3.2.
Most AI design demos end on a screen. Ask Kiln for a part and you can turn it over in 3D, then print it and hold it.
Kiln's own 3D stage: see it in your agentic chat, or get a url for your browser. ๐งต
@observie Very aligned with what weโre building at Kiln: giving agents tools to go from geometry generation โ manufacturing validation โ directly operating the 3D printer.
Kiln is still early, but would love feedback if you get a chance to check it out
@LideSuddenly@MikeJamesBTC individually designed xyz on demand is what Kiln is built for!
from idea, to a 3d file, to a physical item in your hands, same day ๐ thanks for the shoutout!
@nikitabier Agreed; this era is going to be epic.
Kiln is doing its part to move the needle on bringing items into the real world, and can be used with any AI model to create 3D objects and then slice, print, and monitor the whole thing!
@muratcan Congrats on the new 3D printer!
Weโre building Kiln to get an agent from an idea, to a file, to a sliced, checked, & monitored print. Works with over 70 printer models at this point!
Curious which part of the CAD โ hardware loop youโre tackling first๐
@rileybrown This is the gateway, and we've been building Kiln to tackle it directly!
Once AI helps you design an object, the next question is: why canโt it handle the slicing and printing too? ๐
@boringdev77@DanKornas Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Happy to help you get started and set up, just LMK. Also can and will quickly fix any issues you hit while using it, DMs are always open
@DanKornas gets it!
Kiln works with your AI model of choice, and runs Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Elegoo, Klipper and OctoPrint printers, from prompt to printed part.
Getting from a prompt to a physical part still means too many tools.
Kiln is an open-source MCP server for builders who want AI agents to operate 3D printers.
It helps you move from a text prompt or sketch to a printed part by connecting MCP clients to design, validate, slice, and control print workflows.
Key features:
โข MCP connection โ works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other MCP-capable clients
โข Design-to-print loop โ supports text or sketch โ AI generation โ validation โ slice โ print
โข Mixed printer support โ covers Bambu Lab, PrusaLink, OctoPrint, Moonraker/Klipper, Creality, Elegoo, Duet, and direct USB
โข Practical printer controls โ includes discovery, status checks, uploads, slicing, print queues, camera snapshots, and print history
โข Agent-readable output โ CLI commands support `--json` for programmatic use
Itโs open-source (AGPL-3.0 license).

@claudeai@LEJ_limited a tiny emoji becoming a real thing on your desk never gets old. Kiln does the whole trip in one chat, from idea to printer. check us out @Kiln3d !

Kiln is open-source infrastructure that lets AI agents create real objects and control 3D printers. Design, decorate, slice, print, monitor, recover, all from one conversation.
Free & open source at the core (AGPL-3.0); paid tiers add more.

What's new in Kiln, 1.4.0 through 1.4.1.1. Your AI agent could already make you an STL. Now it can make you a STEP: real CAD a machine shop can open and measure. Thread. ๐งต
