A 65+ year-old marathon legend might miss the StanChart Nairobi Marathon… not because she’s injured, but because she couldn’t afford to register in time. 💔
So I was saying goodbye to ShoSho Carol today and telling her how excited I was to run the @StanChartKE Nairobi Marathon with her, only to learn—to my absolute shock—that she missed registration because she simply didn’t have the registration fee at the time. By the time she was able to raise it, registration had already closed. 💔
While I would gladly sponsor her registration, entries are now closed.
Carol has completed several StanChart Nairobi Marathons and is one of only a handful of active runners over the age of 65 who continue to inspire our running community. Many of you have run alongside her and know the passion and joy she brings to every race.
I’m therefore making a humble appeal to @StanChartKE and the race director to please consider granting her an honorary entry this year. It would be such a shame for her remarkable streak to end because of circumstances like this.
If Carol has ever inspired you, please repost this, tag @StanChartKE, and help us get this message to the race organizers. Let’s see if we can get ShoSho Carol to the starting line. 🙏🏾🏃🏾♀️❤️
Nawaomba mnifikishie this post to the right people 🥹🥹🙏

We are at a pivotal moment in our nation's history, and the call to serve has never been more urgent. After careful consideration and consultations with trusted advisors, community leaders, and citizens from all walks of life, I am pleased to announce the formation of a Presidential Exploratory Committee.
This committee will thoroughly assess the viability of my candidacy for the 2027 presidential election. Its primary focus will be to engage with the public, gather input on the most pressing challenges facing our nation, and determine how best to address these issues with bold and innovative leadership.
The road ahead requires thoughtful preparation, and this exploratory phase is a crucial step in ensuring that our vision for the future aligns with the hopes and aspirations of Kenyans. I am committed to listening, learning, and building a platform that reflects the values and priorities of our citizens.
Together, we can shape a brighter future. Thank you for your support as we embark on this journey.
I thought I would just let you in on what goes into a marathon/half marathon training
I spent atleast 2 hard months of training to do my marathon
Most recreational runners have spent the whole year or atleast 13 weeks of training to prepare for stanchart marathon
And by training I mean they had to wake up earlier than usual to put in atleast 1 hr of running to upto 3 hrs and even more on weekends
They have made sacrifices in terms of time and resources to prep for this
Waking up at 4 am to turn up for speedwork
Giving up alcohol for months
Spending Saturday mornings doing long runs I mean there is so much that goes into marathon training.
In all honesty only a runner would understand the sacrifices they’ve made . I can’t imagine how they must feel to see the possibility of the day they’ve been preping so hard get disrupted not by the people we all cumulatively hate but their own fellow citizens who can not differentiate a family fun day event to a political event?
Stanchart marathon is not my race I was personally just going to give support to friends and family I have seen put in the work for months…
Ruto and his goons will loose nothing if you occupy a family event … it’s the thousands of families , friends , siblings that will be utterly disappointed they cannot even get one day to distress
Thousands of children will be doing the family run to bond with their parents etc
Do we really need to disrupt an event that promotes good health habits ?
Promotes good mental health in a period where everyone is going through so much ?
Join to spectate and cheer people along the course to achieve the goals they have set and worked hard for but not to disrupt a family day
When we are all in the same team of Ruto and all of them must go .
My humble plea is Let’s promote events that are good for our mental health in the middle of all these chaos 🙏
While I will be wearing a flag I will not impose it to other runners they are not my problem must go is my problem not them . So I will respect their personal space and decision .
Happy weekending 🤐
Hello Good people so I had mentioned a week ago I will be humbly seeking your assistance to Fundraise for Baby Baraka . I will be running the Chicago marathon this Sunday am I am using it to appeal to you to help us give this little boy he’s face back 🙏. Baraka was a happy little boy as you will see in the attached video before his face was blown out by a gun shot injury a few months ago . He is truly a very strong willed boy having survived a life threatening incident and he continued to sho his strong will to live as he went through multiple life saving surgeries . Kudos to the entire team at KNH that gave their best in theatre and supportive care to keep this little boy alive 👏🏽. When I met him during one of my calls his story struck something in me and this is why I am appealing to you to give Baraka he’s face back . As you will hear in the video Baraka needs a prosthesis to cover the defect on his face . One of the specialist consultant will take a mold/scan of his face send it to a specialist lab abroad that makes this kind of prosthesis . Baraka will then Undergo a life transforming surgery to fit it on his face .
We arrived at a estimated budget of 10k pounds after receiving quotations from two labs one in Belgium and another in the US
Please note that the fundraiser is only for the prosthesis and any cost associated with it . The surgical team will be doing this probono as his previous surgeries were also waived .
You can watch his story here 👇

You can donate any amount here 👇
https://t.co/Ue4fC87g0x
I chose mchanga as I did not want any ambiguity on how much money was donated . Should you my good people exceed the target any extra money will go towards helping the next person inline who is equally very needy 🙏 .
Sharing this gets Baraka closer to his dignity and smile 😊
Thank you in advance 😊
Happy Mazingira /utamaduni day

"You've got a tough job here. You've got to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver rising take home pay, which of course he did. You've got to pretend that Donald Trump didn't deliver lower inflation, which of course he did. And then you've got to defend Kamala Harris's atrocious economic record, which has made gas, groceries, and housing unaffordable for American citizens." - Senator JD Vance
MPs of KENYA,

Hi everyone, I'm reaching out for financial help to cover my dad's medical bills, which have taken a huge toll on me. I've been doing my best to manage, but I can no longer keep it to myself, I'm completely drained. My dad is battling three chronic illnesses

The new University Funding Model is despicable.
It is classism.
It is expensive and segregates students. — it is discriminatory just like CBC.
No student wrote a letter to God to be born in a rich family or poor family.
No human being should be classified based on their family.
Education is an equalizer.
Education is meant to bring the child of the rich and the child of the poor on one table.
Their differences were solved when they sat a national exam that saw all of them qualify for university.
There was no exam for the rich and exam for the poor.
University is from a Latin phrase "universitas magistrorum et scholarium," which means " a community of teachers and students".
— university education should be a unifying tool NOT a tool of segregation or promoting classism.
At the end of it all,
• Child of the poor will not afford it
• Universities will not sustain themselves
• University will collapse
• Graduates will not pay the loans
• If you combine a useless CBC and a classist university model, you will see the game plan.
The game plan is to chain young adults with student loans.
Student loans is the new form of taxation in America and it is also a campaign tool.
The people currently destroying our education system found free education, affordable secondary education and free university education where they were given "booms" and ready jobs.
The FAT boomers, chronic wankers, corrupt politicians and emasculated men you are seeing in this photo are part of the cabal destroying our education system.
If we don't speak out in one voice and demand prosecution of these crooks, our children wil have no future.

This might be unpopular but I'll say it anyway,
With Raila being officially on Ruto's side , we face a new obstacle.
And the first one is for Railas die hard followers swallowing the bitter pill and accepting that a man they've respected and idolised since childhood is a traitor & opportunist !
That won't be easy . They will get into denial mode and make excuses for it. They will try to say he has good reasons and is doing it for the nation.
But NO ! @RailaOdinga saw an opportunity and decided to use the blood shed by Kenyan Youths for his own political gain !
Railas goons aren't a threat to us ; His died hard followers not accepting the reality is the real threat that will cause division in our movement!
I hope and pray we all open our eyes and see these politicians for who they are !
The other issue that could kill our movement is lack of well documented demands !
We started with the finance bill.
Ruto refused to sign and is now using back doors to sneak it into law.
We demanded sacking of the cabinet and Ig , Ruto did it and is now planning to recycle his old political friends to crash us .
Most of the people outside social media esp tiktok and X don't see this.
They see Ruto as this listening and humble president who is doing as requested.
They have now started seeing us as a group of rebellious youths who have been paid to destabilise our country !
"Si Ruto alifanya vile walikuwa wanataka ? Mbona tena wanademonstrate ? Hawa sasa wamelipwa " they say.
This is the reason as to why Rutos administration wants to control the media so bad ! If we are not careful , our demonstrations will only make Ruto more popular out there by appearing as the victim !
#RutoMustGo isn't enough. We must clearly put why #RutoMustGo.
We must have clear and well written demands on our banners !
Further , if we lack strategy and fail to hit where it hurts the most , our message won't get home.
We need to have a strategy to make sure our protest aren't Nairobi based but happening all over the counties! Must also be very strategic in the areas we set to occupy .
Other than that, we must also get a way to differentiate ourselves from goons ! We could have a road that we will follow, maybe have a dress code , maybe have silent demonstrations.....whatver it takes to be different from the hired goons .
Let us resist appearing violent!
Last but not least. ....
Let's put more sense and less emotions on our spaces. Emotions will do little to help us achieve our goals . We must be calm , collected and sobber in our X spaces and media interviews.
Anyway, those are just my views and yes I could be wrong but I'm 100% right when I say #RutoMustGo
Normalize investing in your circle of friends - support each other by sharing progressive ideas.
The friends you keep today are who your children will refer to as their connections tomorrow.
Help each other grow through mutual links to professional and investment opportunities.
A FORM ONE STUDENT at LUGULU GIRLS died at a Lugulu Hospital because her family could not afford to transfer her to the hospital from school on time.
Her parents are peasant farmers from Webuye who depend on well-wishers, bursaries, and church scholarships for their daughter's education.
Her classmate fundraised KSH 1,200 to facilitate the transfer, but it was too late. By the time she arrived at the hospital, she had deteriorated.
If only EDU-AFYA was active, the student would have been transferred to Webuye Sub-County Hospital for emergency treatment.
What happens nowadays is that if your child becomes ill while in school, the class teacher will call you to pick the child for further medical attention at your cost.
The court declared today that the mongrel called SHIF is unconstitutional. It must, therefore, be shelved.
We must demand that NHIF, LINDA MAMA, and EDU-AFYA be reinstated immediately.
EDU-AFYA was very vital in ensuring students' healthcare and safety were secured without parents getting worried about medical bills beyond school fees.
This mongrel called SHIF should go with Nakhumicha, and it should never be brought anywhere near Kenyans again.
