I just want a Kenya that works for everyone so that privilege, class and money doesn't take a front seat in conversations pertaining education, health and basic infrastructure.
Third world countries love unnecessary conferences and summits to solve absolutely nothing.
Always forming unserious "multi-sectoral" task force to come up with "new" policies/ framework.
That is what Ruto is wasting our time with.
Legends will remember this:
In Apr 2010, the CoE handed their final draft to AG Wako for publication in preparation for the referendum.
Wako published in early May and immediately, hawk-eyed Kenyans noticed that it had been tampered with in Article 24(1)(d).
They scrapped the DUC model in 2023, rolled out a new one that flopped, and now another model. This government doesn't pilot anything. It just experiments and moves on when something doesn't work.
Varsity Funding Bill Shocker:
Proposed bill abolishes student grants, introduces loans
Loanees to pay higher interest rates than current 4%
Loan repayment to begin one year after employment
Employers risk heavy penalties for non-remittance

@Gideoomatic There was a Luke Shaw's cross/attempted shot that hit a defender's arm that was fully tucked into his body and they went 'handball! VAR would want a look at that' 😂
Ruto just spent 40 minutes trying to create a false equivalence between our national values set out in the constitution and his so called “development”. Kenyans, please trust me when i tell you there is a reason the Preamble comes before Article 43. You don’t get to the “development “ clauses until and unless you have taken into account the reasons we passed this constitution in the first place. Democracy, Human Rights, Freedom, Equality, Rule of Law and Social Justice.
Speaking during a development cooperation conference in Sweden, former CBK Governor Njuguna Ndung'u said Kenya's President has overrun state institutions, leaving officials to comply out of fear.
Millet & sorghum porridge/ugali are nutrient-dense on paper, but much of that iron & zinc never reaches your bloodstream. Here's why:
1. Both grains are rich in phytic acid (myo-inositol hexaphosphate). Its phosphate groups chelate Fe²⁺ and Zn²⁺, forming insoluble phytate-mineral complexes in the gut that human intestinal cells can't absorb. Humans lack enough phytase to break this down.
2. Sorghum (esp. red/brown varieties) also carries condensed tannins, which bind mineral ions and precipitate digestive enzymes/proteins further cutting absorption and protein digestibility.
3. Net effect: iron/zinc content looks good in lab assays, but bioavailability (what actually absorbs) can be 5-10x lower than the raw numbers suggest. This is a real driver of anemia & zinc deficiency in cereal-dependent diets.
4. Fix isn't only breeding alone: Traditional processing cuts phytate significantly: fermentation (ucuru wa mugagatio or something similar), malting/germination, and soaking activate endogenous/microbial phytase and can reduce phytate 40-80%. Biofortified varieties (e.g., HarvestPlus iron-pearl millet) add another lever.
Bottom line:
Mineral antagonism is pairing-specific, not a diversity problem: phytates/tannins chelate Fe²⁺/Zn²⁺ into unabsorbable complexes; polyphenols (tea/coffee) do similarly (tea and coffee drinking when having meals may inadvertently mess your mineral bio-availability); calcium competes with iron for the DMT1 transporter. But vitamin C (tomatoes, oranges etc) reduces Fe³⁺→Fe²⁺ into soluble chelates, and the meat factor boosts non-heme iron uptake even in phytate-rich meals, an orange or tomato paste should be encouraged in cereal based diets). Fix: pair antinutrient-heavy staples with citrus/animal protein, and soak/ferment/malt to cut phytate and other antinutritional factors.
@Robertkashu@Dare2Xavier I also tend to think so. And especially the "cholesterol" thing. And it's crazy considering how vital cholesterol is for brain function.
This is a joke, right? Sifuna hasn't been tested on mobilization, polling agents, ground structures or converting the "liking" into actual ballots. People liking Sifuna and voting are two very different things. Name me Sifuna's ward rep in Nyeri? Name me his mobilizer in Meru? Name me his polling agent coordinator in Kirinyaga?
Just so you know, to climb the mountain, Sifuna doesn't need Riggy G. He is only doing it out of respect. The people there already love him.
You should also remember that the region moved away from supporting the regime and Kasongo even before Riggy G was impeached.
There is nothing that Riggy G can do to make the same people dislike Sifuna. If Sifuna organized a rally there, there would still be a massive turnout unless goons are organized to disrupt his rally for political gatekeeping.
The same way Maraga has moved across the nation, over 40 counties, and still attracted crowds is the same way Sifuna would. These are national leaders not tribal Chieftains. They can attract an audience anywhere they go.
