@byjoelanderson thank you for being so outspoken about this, the arguments against paying players has made me feel crazy for so many years and it's validating to see people who know the bureaucracy highlights how insane it is
@righttimebomani@bomani_jones not the point obviously, but we've definitely grown accustomed to Mahomes *not* making those deep throws over the last few years
@ndsnas I'm not sure anything has made me feel more insane than the Tucker Carlson rebrand over the last couple months. the idea that he's just on the right side of history and not a media savvy fascist grabbing hold of the Overton Window is... I mean, what are we doing here
@GraceSpelman yeah that's what's weird, I don't think twitter is representative of popular thinking, but influential people do think that, and then they go off and be influential
@adamjohnsonCHI we're so far past looking for justifications for a response to October 7th that it should be embarrassing to even mention Hamas. morally and intellectually unserious doesn't even begin to describe it anymore, this is pathological (or intentional)
@byjoelanderson the irony of the 0.01% argument is there still is no competition without the remaining 99.99%, meaning simply existing as athletes should entitle those kids to more than what they're getting. but logic is never the point for them anyway
