William Wallace was murdered on this day in 1305.
Longshanks hoped this was the end of the Scottish resistance but it was just the beginning , Wallace’s memory lives on in the memory of every Scot today and what he lived and died for will never be forgotten, FREEDOM, Gary
Wonderful day yesterday at the @AnnandaleDstlry Such a pleasure to be part of the ‘Outlaw King’ Blended #Scotch Whisky launch. Great to catch up with old cast members and meet the wonderfully well informed staff at the distillery. @sigmafilms@MrJamesCosmo@OutlawKing
Thoroughly enjoyed #RobertTheBruce and it was an unexpected bonus to have @macfadyenangus there in person to introduce it. An emotional, well-told tale that deserves a wide audience.

#DYK the magnificent statue of #RobertTheBruce marking the site of the Battle of Bannockburn was designed by sculptor Pilkington Jackson & was erected in 1964?
Jackson was a graduate of @eca_edinburgh & worked closely with architect Robert Lorimer throughout his career.
Great movie! It had its world premiere in Edinburgh last night. Angus MacFadyen battled for 13 years to get it made and it was well worth it. Visually sumptuous, and it truly stirs the blood. Go see it! #RoberttheBruce @macfadyenangus
Here they come! We’re live from the World Premiere of @thebrucefilm 🏴 at EIFF - director @_richie_gray, star/co-writer @macfadyenangus and an army of cast and crew walk the red carpet, accompanied by a piper 🎶
Fantastic atmosphere.

#OTD 1314 Edward II's vast army of 18,000 men marched 25 miles to Falkirk on their way to relieve @stirlingcastle. It was written that "never in our time has such an army gone forth from the Kingdom of England". Robert the Bruce & 8,000 Scots stood in their path #ScottishHistory
