Fabulous architectural walk & talk event in #Surbiton yesterday with @KingstonRamble1. Thank you to all people who showed up & hope to have more of this soon. #KingstonSocietyWalks
⚠️UPDATE ⚠️ Crews are still in attendance at the ongoing wildfire at #AshRanges#ClaygateCommon. Smoke is still visible due to smouldering undergrowth and small pockets of fire which crews are dampening down. We're advising the public to please still stay away from the area.
That's not the only thing to be happening this Thursday...
Tomorrow, #AccessToNature also reaches the Lords as peers will discuss two key amendments to the #LevellingUp Bill
A quick🧵
On Thursday, MPs will debate #AccessToNature in the UK Parliament.
Ahead of an election, this is a big opportunity to put access on the political agenda 📢
Ask your MP to attend & speak up for our freedom to access and enjoy the outdoors👇

From tomorrow, Monday 1 May, deer birthing season will be underway. Until the 31 July, 'dogs on leads' will be compulsory in all areas of Richmond & Bushy Parks 🦌
Check out these handy maps of areas of both parks to specifically avoid. Read more here ▶️ https://t.co/7ZifVbehlV.
We’ve made great strides in the fight for access since the #KinderTrespass 91 years ago.
But there’s still so much more to do.
We can only walk freely over 8% of England’s land & it's our most deprived communities who are furthest away.
It’s not right & it’s time for change 🧵
We have had at least 3 incidents of dogs chasing deer in #RichmondPark this morning. The park is very busy, the deer are being chased across roads which have many cyclists on. If they take out a cyclist or pedestrian, it could result in serious injuries.
Really humbled, honoured and excited to become president of @RamblersGB! An amazing charity doing incredible work to protect and promote walking in the great outdoors! Looking forward to the journey ahead and to encourage walking for all. https://t.co/uUsNXXbMI2

Have you tried the new path connecting Black Poplar Meadow with Owl Wood? It avoids the muddy area in the middle, which means you no longer need to get your feet wet when you cross alongside the stepping logs
The London Loop & Capital Ring are routes on the Walk London Network - the biggest urban walking network in the world.
@Ramblers_London have been improving the signage & wayfinding along these routes.
