Hello Senator Thune,
Let's expose what you're really doing with "reconciliation."
You announced it yesterday, eleven months after the House passed the SAVE America Act. You're not trying to pass this bill. You're trying to kill it in a way you can blame on process.
Here's how we know:
Reconciliation requires the Senate parliamentarian to rule that provisions are "budgetary." Citizenship verification is not budgetary. Photo ID mandates are not budgetary. The parliamentarian will gut the bill. Then you'll shrug and say "we tried." We see through you.
Meanwhile, you WON'T use the tools that actually work:
Rule XIX limits each senator to two speeches per legislative day. Keep the Senate in continuous session, file cloture daily, and the filibuster exhausts in ~12-20 days. You dismissed it as "complicated." Because if you tried and succeeded, you'd have to actually pass the bill.
Harry Reid nuked the filibuster in 2013 when he wanted results.
Mitch McConnell changed Senate rules THREE times and canceled the August recess.
Chuck Schumer used reconciliation within months on a 50-50 Senate.
You have 53 seats. You've changed nothing, canceled nothing, and waited eleven months.
Now let's talk donors:
• Goldman Sachs: $150K to you - top H-1B user
• Google: $75K - lobbies against E-Verify
• Meta: $72.5K - Zuckerberg's FWD[.]us pushes mass immigration
• Wells Fargo: $90K - banks undocumented immigrants
Same corporations sponsor Punchbowl News, where you sit for "Fly Out Days" which nobody watches except Congress staffers and K Street lobbyists who pays premium bucks for legislative intelligence. Their reporter then telegraphs to the audience the SAVE Act "will ultimately fail."
Corporate money flows to you AND to the outlet that frames your inaction as inevitable.
We see the loop.
You called grassroots anger a "paid influencer ecosystem." YOU are the paid influencer. You take the wrong side of a 80% issue because you are indistinguishable from a K Street mouthpiece, and an ineffective one to boot who won't bend the rules to get anything passed.
What we want:
1. Force a real talking filibuster.
2. Stop hiding behind process.
3. Pass the SAVE America Act.
YOU will become the reason that we will have our butts kicked in midterms. Not Candace Owens, not Nick Fuentes, not anyone else. You and you alone, and all because you want to make the 200 or so viewers of Punchbowl Fly Out Days happy. You're living in a K Street information bubble, addicted to the comforts and praises of lobbyists masquerading as journalists. You mistake the steak and martini dinners you get invited to as your own constituents.
You are not "moderate." The SAVE America Act has 98% support among Republicans. Name one other thing that has 98% support. You are an extreme minority who prides himself on being a calm leader, when in reality you are well in the running for the most ineffective Majority leader of all time.
Prove me wrong. Do the bare modicum of effort. Not symbolic. Actual effort. Cancel the recess. Get SAVE America Act passed.
Exactly. Just because the narrative has been a lie before, doesn't mean everything is a lie. Just because some conspiracies have been proven true doesn't mean everything requires a conspiracy to explain.
It's because of this chain of reasoning:
1. Official narratives have been wrong before.
2. Therefore, official narratives can never be trusted.
3. "Tyler Robinson did it" is the official narrative.
4. Therefore, any other explanation is better, no matter how baseless or speculative.
Obviously, 2 doesn't follow from 1, even though 1 is true. But people have convinced themselves that it does follow, so no amount of evidence supporting the "official narrative" will ever change their minds. They skipped rational skepticism and went straight to irrational skepticism, where conspiracy is the only available option.
Out of every disgusting, dishonest piece of filth the mainstream media has produced about Hurricane Helene...
This is the worst.
60 Minutes has NEVER done a story on the families FEMA denied.
They NEVER mentioned the Amish, who are STILL in the mountains rebuilding homes 550 days later.
They NEVER mentioned Jake Jarvis, who has worked 550 days STRAIGHT FOR FREE for Hurricane Helene victims.
Instead, they dug up some fringe conspiracy angle to smear the people who actually showed up as White Nationalists.
I'm so angry.
Let me tell you what 60 Minutes will NEVER report on
I was there. I lived it. I am still here.
I shared every story I could find.
Me, my wife, hundreds of volunteers delivered RVs to mothers holding babies who were sleeping in TOOL SHEDS AND TENTS in the freezing cold, in the mountains.
Because their homes had been ripped off the side of a mountain and washed down the French Broad.
So tell me 60 Minutes... WHERE WAS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?
Tell me, WHY did all these volunteers NEED to show up?
Any thoughts on that?!!!!!
Any investigation AT ALL into the federal or state government's response to Hurricane Helene?
Please tell me... if the federal government was doing such a GREAT JOB, why did we need to put victims in RVs...
...A MONTH AFTER THE HURRICANE?!!!!!!!
Literally every single victim you talk to in Western North Carolina has a horror story about dealing with FEMA...
...and guess who they will all say actually cam through for them?
Neighbors.
Church groups.
The Amish.
The Cajun Navy.
Shawn Hendricks.
Samaritan's Purse.
MercuryOne.
The Mission Mules hauling insulin up washed-out roads, ONLY ACCESSIBLE by mules.
Greg Biffle burning his own fuel in helicopters.
Veterans like Adam Smith who organized helicopter rescues with other veterans BY HIMSELF and then was demonized by the media for it.
Volunteers like Jake Jarvis working TO THIS DAY, 550 days later without ANY PAY AT ALL.
THOSE ARE THE STORIES FROM HURRICANE HELENE WORTH TELLING.
But 60 Minutes won't tell ANY OF THEM.
Because the truth makes the federal government the villain and the "deplorables" are actually the heroes in this story and they can NEVER admit that.
So instead they smeared the rescuers as white nationalists.
This is unforgivable.
I was there. I saw it with my own eyes.
And I will BE DAMNED if I let CBS rewrite the history of what happened to my mountains.
Practically everyone I talk to is done with toxic divisive politics.
They hate both sides because both sides are failures.
Yes people still hold their core beliefs but they are fed up with the drama.
All people want is their government to shut the F up and make Americans lives good.
Thats it. Just that.
3 years ago, I repealed a Civil War-era total abortion ban, and I haven't stopped fighting to protect Arizonans’ right to build their families and their futures.
I will never back down from defending reproductive rights.
For those of you trying to take down Erika Kirk; for your sake, she’d better be the “fake” you claim her to be. Your “God-given discernment” had better be on point. Your venom towards her had better be warranted.
Because if it isn’t… and she’s truly a woman of God… and by all instances, she’s shown herself to be… and Charlie believed she is a woman of God… and you’re going out of your way to destroy, investigate, and crush the *very thing* the Bible commands us not to, then you’re going to have to answering to do on your day of Judgment.
See, for those of us defending Erika, even if we’re wrong and she was somehow pulling the wool over our eyes the entire time, at least we are doing what we’re doing in the best of faith. Can you say the same?
I’m good with my soul on this topic. Are you?
Everything about this gives me a headache due to excessive eye rolling. The soda, and the inefficient way she pours it. The cake mix, and the way she pre-opened it and dumped it from the bag to the box, why? The double whisking, inefficient. Cool whip, gag, whipped vegetable oil, pass. She struggles folding in the pre-opened and reboxed pudding. The cakes come out sunken. After coating the cakes with goo, she bites FROM THE MIDDLE of the cake!!! Diabolical.
