@AaronJacob90@ShawnaNonna@CollinRugg Yup.
They love painting doctors and medical professionals as the bad guys but the only thing they make apparent is their ignorance.
Let me put things in perspective
> A child with down syndrome will have 20-50x chances to contract Alzheimer's/dementia
> A child with down syndrome will a 10x of contracting cancer
> A child with down syndrome will 50-65% chances of developing a heart condition and 50% chances of hearing & vision loss
Now for financial sides of things
> Compared to a normal healthy child it takes 2-6 times more to raise a child with down syndrome
> Average costs up to 18 years of age could be between $400,000 to $700,000 (with insurance)
Raising a child with down syndrome is not only cruel to them but to parents too. I haven't even mentioned the emotional stress of it. The choice 100% belongs to the parents.
In 2024 532,000 children were confirmed victims of abuse. Half a million kids I bet if given a choice they would choose to be born to parents who actually wanted them.
@LindiKC2@MaryBowdenMD@TexasChildrens You’re right, we really don’t know whether she’s brain dead or not. We won’t know until the temporary restraining order filed by the parents expires tomorrow and further testing is done.
It’s not that they won’t transfer her, there hasn’t been a facility willing to accept her.
@cheez_swis4255@LikeSybil@MaryBowdenMD@TexasChildrens Different cases. It doesn’t seem like your child is on a ventilator on the photo you posted.
With that being said, it’s wonderful to hear that your baby made a full recovery! I wish this was the case for everyone.
