@theboygren@DavidLammy I lived with my partner for 20 years. I was able to do all of the above. As long as you have a will you can control all of the estate. Oh I didnโt pay any asset tax either.
@Mr_notUrFriend@DavidLammy Do you really think people pretend to be widowed and have children under 18 just to receive their dead partner NI credits. Which totals ยฃ9800 over 18 months. Only 1 person is allowed to make a claim. So if you have kids from a previous marriage they get nothing.
@Nost1974@DavidLammy I think you need to read the family policy. If you live together while alive youโre classed as married as far as benefits are concerned. If one person dies you still couldnโt claim anything because you werenโt married ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ we managed to get this finally changed in 2023.
@MartinSLewis@mmhpi Itโs a brilliant idea but tell us once still doesnโt work well after a bereavement. We raised this in parliament back in 2019 but no improvement has been made.
@RetroRobson@CalumDouglas1@oldskoolmacboy@BBCNewsnight As a Newcastle girl with a son at Oxford I can confirm that the situation in oxford is bad. Luckily my sons in halls but I feel for the students that arenโt given that option. Housing stock is far too low to meet demand.
@peg_roger@BBCNewsnight Not all universities alway you to work. My son from a low income family isnโt allowed to work and has to get permission to work in the holidays. Heโs expected to do 60 hours of studying each week.
@MartinSLewis A declaration of wishes is just a wish I found with 2 different pensions they didnโt follow the wishes and the money was awarded to different people both times.
@sharrond62 Itโs not just Muslims itโs detracting its people who are afraid of dogs. Lots of neurodiverse people donโt like dogs. I have a high allergy to certain dogs but people tell me there dog is fine. ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ
@PeterStefanovi2@NatashaC So my son whoโs worked incredibly hard, went to state school lost his Dad to a sudden heart attack at 14 and gained a place at Oxford to study physics should pay for the apprenticeship who could end up earning more than him if he goes in research.
@FornenMorris@theAliceRoberts Commercialism is gone past a tipping point. Profit and personal gain over welfare. We are seeing this from Covid, water, food and other utilities. Tesco made high profits but staff are topping up on UC.
@Keir_Starmer Might be helpful if we had some buses in the 1st place. We donโt even have a direct road into our village anymore. The bridge collapsed in January and apparently isnโt expected to open till end of Sept 2026. Itโs only a bridge across a small brook.
@elonmusk I built a lovely community on Twitter then you took over and itโs filled with hate. I have now started to rebuild a great community on LinkedIn. Much happier there than here.
