If you’re upset about regular folk hoarding toilet paper, wait till you hear about how a tiny percentage of rich people have hoarded most of the world’s wealth.
It reflects the "grass-roots" origins of much of the poetry but also its quality - these words resonate more than 150 years later with people across the world. It's really rewarding to see the project inspire new creative material, which was one of our aims in putting it online.
We were really excited about the musical potential of Cotton Famine poems so thrilled to have @FaustusFolk on board from the start, but it's also been brilliant to see so many other musicians interpreting the material we've found.
