🇳🇱🇿🇼Our joint field mission with @NLinZimbabwe Acting Ambassador HE IIyaas Sherally proved that strong partnerships drive lasting community transformation in Zimbabwe under the @UNFPA_SYP program.
Engaging with a traditional leader championing the 'Not In My Village Campaign' underscored the vital role chiefs play in ending child marriage, preventing adolescent pregnancies, and safeguarding girls' rights.
During the visit to the Youth-Friendly Health Facility, the mission observed how adolescents access SRH services in a safe, non-judgmental space. Additionally, the mission reviewed the expansion of the Self-Care Model, which empowers young people by increasing access to HIV services, essential healthcare, and lifesaving gender-based violence services and information.
Our investments in community leadership and youth-centred services empower young people to thrive in healthier, more resilient communities.
Together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands we are delivering health, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Many young people are ready for a relationship. But can they afford it?
For 57% of young adults surveyed by @UNFPA economic and housing constraints are important barriers to marriage or a stable partnership.
For many, decisions about relationships are shaped not only by love and commitment, but also by whether they can afford to build a life together.
Expanding access to decent work, affordable housing and economic opportunities can help young people pursue the futures they want.

Every successful fistula repair is more than a surgery - it is the restoration of health, dignity, and hope.
At least 50 women have regained their health and dignity after undergoing obstetric fistula repair surgery at United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Through the support of the Health Resilience Fund partners @euinzim@ukinzimbabwe@IrlEmbPretoria
partners, UNFPA is helping women reclaim their lives and return to their families and communities with renewed hope.
Together with @MoHCCZim and our partners we remain committed to ending obstetric fistula through prevention, timely treatment, and survivor reintegration - ensuring that no woman is left behind.

Have you ever heard about obstetric fistula?
Obstetric fistula is a preventable and treatable childbirth injury that affects thousands of women and girls.
This is when a woman ends up leaking faeces or urine after childbirth due to prolonged and obstructed labour without timely, quality medical care
No woman or girl should suffer in silence.
Treatment is available, and many women can be fully healed through surgical repair and post-treatment care.
Together, we can end obstetric fistula and ensure safe motherhood for all women and girls in Zimbabwe.

👂🏿Listen to youth. Act with urgency.
Today, the @UNFPA_ESARO Director @LZigomo today engaged with young leaders on the critical priorities shaping their future:
🔹 Urgent mental health and psychosocial support 🔹 Scaled-up substance abuse prevention, treatment and rehabilitation 🔹 Ending adolescent pregnancies and child marriages by expanding access to information, services and opportunities for young people 🔹 Real decision-making power—not just a seat at the table 🔹 Safe, inclusive spaces where young people can innovate, lead and thrive 🔹 Equipping a resilient generation to navigate economic uncertainty and build a brighter future
Listening is no longer enough. We must act boldly and invest strategically to ensure every young person is healthy, empowered and able to realise their full potential—leaving no one behind.
