We had a great time at World Migratory Bird Day in Klamath Falls over the weekend! Despite the cold and wind, we still had a stellar turnout! A very big thank you to all that helped make the event possible!

Prescribed burns on the refuge commence quickly, and as the flames on Lower Klamath Wildlife Refuge begin to die down, Fire Engineer Kegan monitors from a "burn bike".
Refuge fire crew personnel is teaming up with @CAL_FIRE engine 2675 out of weed and the US @forestservice for some prescribed burning on Lower Klamath Wildlife Refuge today!
Great blue herons are patient predators that stalk a wide variety of wetland prey near ponds, streams, lakes, rivers, marshes and coastlines. These large wading birds stand nearly four feet tall and have 72-inch wingspans.

There are large numbers of Sandhill cranes, swans, white-fronted geese and snow geese in the basin right now with neck collars and leg bands. The collars and bands may have solar panels and/or antennas on them. If you see a banded bird, please report it to https://t.co/zx6IkpZ9cR
