An alien invasive species in #Madagascar that seems to have escaped attention is Clausena anista (Rutaceae) - stems used to provide support for Vanilla and now aggressively colonising degraded landscapes in SAVA region.
At the nursery at Makirovana-Tsihomanaomby PA #Madagascar seed of rosewoods/palisanders (Dalbergia) germinate well to form robust seedlings (here with nurserymen). Only problem is attacks by giant exotic snails. Thanks Fondation Franklinia.
📚: Wild edible plant species (WEPs) are potential sources of macronutrients and minerals.
Studying their nutritional values & increasing their abundance on different landscapes is critical to improving #food availability and landscape #resilience.
