The future of inclusive growth in the #IGAD region depends on more than just policy—it depends on action led by the private sector. We were honoured to have our Chairman, Mr. @Justusewoi represents the @KNCCITurkana Chapter at the #IGADRegional Learning Exchange in Addis Ababa. This focused on implementing the #KampalaDeclaration on Jobs, Livelihoods, and Self-Reliance.
The goal is clear: increase the 36% of refugees in Africa with formal employment. The success of Kenya’s Shirika Plan and other regional initiatives shows that systemic change is possible through access to jobs, loans, and social protection.
This exchange was crucial for sharing lessons, strengthening regional coordination, and amplifying private sector engagement in displacement-affected areas like Turkana. We believe that by fostering Local Economic Development, we create inclusive, thriving economies for all.
We are inspired by the collective commitment! Let's continue this vital work.@WorldBank@IGADsecretariat@DRSKenya@TurkanaCountyKE
