In Rishikesh, I crossed Lakshman Jhula and stepped into the Ganges.

Sand beneath my feet.
Cold water against my body.
Mountains above me.

I did not think about meaning.
I felt it.

My lesson:
You need to be held by something older than your thoughts.

#OTD Jelly Roll Morton joined the ancestors (Oct 20, 1890 - Jul 10, 1941). Born Ferdinand Joseph LaMothe, Ragtime/jazz pianist, bandleader, composer. Jelly Roll was of Louisiana Creole descent. He was jazz's 1st arranger, proving that a genre rooted in improvisation could retain its essential characteristics when notated. His composition "Jelly Roll Blues", published in 1915, was one of the 1st published jazz compositions.
