@Teaching_IsLife@LeoneClark I struggle with allowing choices in my kindergarten classroom for fear of disorder. However, after reading how important it is, I will also be giving up some control to allow for more choices.
@mzermenocres@LeoneClark I have never heard of cowriter but after looking into it a little, I like how it can accommodate and support students who need this type of assistance.
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark I also love the "safety to make mistakes." This surely allows her students to feel encouraged to put forth their best effort with their work and learning.
@LeoneClark A9: I plan to allow my student to make more choices. I know I need to let go a little and help students take more control in order to own their learning and make it more meaningful. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark A8: I use Amplify and ST Math with my Kindergarteners. I would consider these programs sustaining because they are learning extensions that enhance students learning. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark A7: I wish to know my students as well as Rachel does in the future. She knew her students so well that she was able to meet each of their individual needs. I know that students will be more successful when their individual learning needs are met. #Q4PLCTalk23
@mdelacr48922935@LeoneClark It is so east to get discouraged as a teacher when students do not get something right away. Perseverance is so crucial as an educator to ensure the success of al students!
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark Reflecting on learning is such a wonderful thing to teach students. We need to know how to do so even as adults and lifelong learners.
@ChristineDRink@LeoneClark I love how you have the ability to allow your students to explore topics they are passionate about. We all put more effort into things we care about.
@MaciasMela15964@LeoneClark I really like that you give your students the choice to produce a flexible work product. I truly believe that choice helps them take ownership of their work.
@MaciasMela15964@LeoneClark I 100% agree! As a Kindergarten teacher I hear "why?" multiple times a day. Students deserve to know why they are being taught something. It helps them make sense of their learning.
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark This makes me really happy to hear. I think it is so important for leaders to take others ideas and teaching philosophies into consideration. I believe we would all be stronger educators if we did so.
@LeoneClark A6: Telling my students that it is okay that their letter or number formation is not perfect βyetβ, because they are just beginning to learn and practice them. This will hopefully help them desire to persevere and keep trying to form them better. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark A5 pt 2: Letting go of control and allowing for choice with Kindergarteners is something I struggle with. I do, however, allow my students the choice to sit or stand while working. I also encourage students to discuss things they are interested in with each other. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark A5 pt 1: Choice is important because as it states in chapter 5, βchoice allows ownership and control, and ownership and control result in engagement.β-page 95. Voice is important because it allows students to express their ideas and in turn, extend their learning. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark A4: I love to use my interest of other cultures to teach holidays around the world during December. I am able to integrate most of the content into engaging cultural themed lessons for students. Because I am interested and excited, my students are as well. #Q4PLCTalk23
@ZertucheRo0215@LeoneClark I agree that having prior experiences in order to make connections is crucial. Unfortunately not all students have the same amount of prior experiences to use as knowledge for connections. I think that is where we come in as educators, to try and provide some experiences.
