@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark R9- Providing choice seems to be on everyone's radar. This book has made me realize how important it is to give our students choices in their learning. #Q4PLCTalk23
@mzermenocres@LeoneClark R9- That is something I need to work on also. It is hard to relinquish that control to our students, even though it is for the benefit of our students. #Q4PLCTalk23
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark R8- Nearpod is one of the best tools out there for getting quick feedback on what students know. It's also very engaging for students. #Q4PLCTalk23
@lizkeslar108@LeoneClark R8- Flip grid is a great tool that I have forgotten about. You are right. It is a great way to assess verbally what students know, especially the ones that don't talk much in class. #Q4PLCTalk23
@mzermenocres@LeoneClark I agree, giving students choice help them create their own drive towards success. Ownership in learning increases the level of engagement. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark A8- I like to use EdPuzzle. It is disrupting. Edpuzzle allows students to respond immediately to what they are learning. It also gives teachers immediate feedback on what students understand. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark Chrissy's story reminded me of a time we were preparing students for STAAR. Each day, the students were allowed to choose their learning strategy for the day. The students enjoyed the fact that they had a choice. #Q4PLCTalk23
@lizkeslar108@LeoneClark R6- That is a great idea. Letting students know that mistakes will happen, but as long as you learn from them, that is all that matters. #Q4PLCTalk23
@KathyMartin95@LeoneClark R6 - Teaching students to learn and grow from their mistakes instead of being defeated by them is awesome. Great way to promote lifelong learners. #Q4PLCTalk23
@Teaching_IsLife@LeoneClark R5- I never thought of student voice and choice as a way for students to find their learning identity. That adds another layer to them becoming life long learners.#Q4PLCTalk23
@KoehlerErinKay@LeoneClark R4- I like that you use something that you are interested in to spark interest in your students. Students always know if you are interested in what you are teaching them. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark In my classroom I promote "flexible mindset" by allowing students to have some control of their learning (voice & choice), but also facilitate the flow of the lesson. #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark Q5, A5 part 1: Voice and choice are important to students because they give them ownership, influence, and motivation in their own personal learning.
Part 2: Classroom discussion and having at least 3 options to display their learning. No need for "choice overload". #Q4PLCTalk23
@LeoneClark Q4, A4 I usually think about what I wanted to know about a topic, as a kid. I was always curious about the back stories of different people or events I was learning about in history, so I try to incorporate that into what I teach my students. #Q4PLCTalk23
