@ZaleskiLuke He's going to play chicken with the Constitution and lose. I think he might get a weekend in jail for starters. He must respect the authority of the court.
@CaitlinPacific I do not like seeing this, but at least they are free to protest. I understand demonstrating for the Palestinian cause, but the timing is poor in light of Hamas’ terrorist acts.
@SIfill_ It seems clear to me that the DOJ should be investigating all of this with an eye toward RICO charges. It would be unprecedented, and reach into the highest levels of our government.
@mattyglesias Oh yeah! This is the first year my daughter is NOT starting soccer season, rather golf and basketball in middle school. I do miss the soccer matches, though.
@NoHolyScripture I sometimes hear that unbelievers are intolerant, but my experiences tell me that is wrong. We all have beliefs separate from reality - that is our inescapable nature. Individuals who understand the difference promote tolerance all around, absent the supernatural.
No, I remember. Back then, groping in the theater was fully sanctioned. Except it was reserved for movies with like a total of five people in the audience, half of them sleeping. Heavy petting at a Broadway show with a full crowd has never been socially acceptable.
@BrandonRichards@CAgovernor@AGRobBonta One might even consider RICO charges at a criminal level, but against whom? This is why corporations should not have the same rights as individuals.
@19joho We are now struggling with some people claiming they knew better. In some cases, they were correct, but in hindsight. In other cases, they SAY they were correct, but we don't have the results for comparison. We only have the data for the course of action we took.
@19joho Almost nobody ”pushed” for schools to close. It was an assumed necessity amongst scientists and educators (I am both). Some of us pushed hard to prioritize for elementary, especially K-3, getting as much in-person learning as possible. The logistics of doing so were overwhelming.
