I’m in the race to the end. I will not join the wave of withdrawals. Months ago, like a soldier armed with nothing but a razor blade, I stormed the Bastille and with small consistent cuts secured a vital win for all the anti-corruption forces. How? By shaking the throne amidst opposition from the praise singers of Jezebel we forced the hand of powerful people to act in tandem with the sentiments of an outraged population. The cause for which I declared my candidature for the Position of Speaker of Parliament is an enduring cause. It doesn’t end with the casting of the vote tomorrow. I have crossed the Rubicon. Let the chips fall where they will. God is not deaf. God is not blind. God is not dumb. He hears, He sees and He speaks. God Bless the 12th Parliament. God Bless Uganda.
As things stand now, Chairman @norbertmao still looks like the most politically convincing candidate for the Speakership. The fact that he had the courage to openly challenge the former Speaker despite the enormous political machinery, influence, and establishment forces behind her was already a victory in itself. Many people feared to make that move, but he stepped forward and changed the entire political conversation.
His first success was not necessarily removing an individual; it was proving that no position should be treated as untouchable and that leadership can still be subjected to competition, ideas, and accountability. By entering the race boldly and confidently, he forced people to think beyond political comfort zones.
Secondly, if he attends today’s caucus and is given the platform to speak, that could become his next major breakthrough. Politics is not always about who arrives with the loudest camp—it is often about who speaks with clarity, maturity, and conviction at the right moment. Mao has demonstrated political patience, experience, and an understanding of how to engage people across different interests. Combined with the relationship and trust he has built over time with the President, a strong presentation in caucus could shift the mood completely.@RealBeaMao@FredShaka
But If President @KagutaMuseveni was willing to leave the Justice and Constitutional Affairs docket empty for almost a full year waiting for @norbertmao, where do critics get the guts to quickly dismiss his strategic weight in the speakership game?
@norbertmao This has always been you @norbertmao . Very consistent, persistent and resilient. Above all, you are so daring to the point of telling the dreaded Joseph Kony on the face that, he should stop killing innocent civilians. Add more fire 🔥
So short a time!, otherwise, as taxpayers, we would have requested a regional Tour de Rolls‑Royce, just to see what it actually looks like, the same way we had begun with the regional parliament visits.
Anyway, time is up.

Hon.Tayebwa Vs Hon.Norbert Mao.
Hon.Tayebwa; I’m 💯 sure that NRM government will bring the next speaker and deputy speaker of 12th Parliament, forget about this thing which I’ve heard from my brother Norbert Mao whom I was his best man, that he is intending to rely on the cooperation that we have with the D.P to bid for speakership, it can’t happen at all !
Hon.Tayebwa; I’m 💯 sure that if Mao was the chairman of the ruling NRM, he wouldn’t endorse non-party members for Speaker and deputy speaker of parliament. That would be suicidal for the party, that’s non-negotiable!.
Hon.Norbert Mao; My brothers and sisters journalists, imagine if I had stood at the door and said it would be suicidal for me to allow you in, and if that was the attitude would they have been allowed into the NRM party?, and how long have they been there now to start lecturing their hosts ?
Hon.Norbert Mao; One day I gave a lift to a man in my car and there was music on the radio station, immediately after sitting the man told me “I don’t like that station” in my response I reminded him that its my car and I’m enjoying the music and he is just a passenger whom I was kind enough to give a lift. So it’s quite unfortunate that very many people behave like that passenger.
Museveni: Both the person who gives a bribe and the one who accepts it are corrupt. Please be very careful. We need a clean Parliament.

@AdongSarah5@RealBeaMao@norbertmao So, would you rather take up a dormitory instead of a cubicle for 4?
I saw ladit PG stating that SG is coming, and it's prudent to negotiate with the right people
@RealBeaMao I think she meant that she, AAA, Wanyoto, and Persis should all be in one room. And she’s subtly signaling to Norbert Mao that she has withdrawn from the Speakership race and is wishing him good luck.
