What a day @KravisTeaching! Started the day at Coffee with Colleagues discussing @EquityMaps, then paired up to map discussions in each other's classes. Ended the day debriefing observations and identifying core values with this incredible group of faculty new to @loomischaffee!
Book chat day @loomischaffee. PHI book = "Futureproof" by @kevinroose. Students were tasked with generating concrete things they could do for each of the 9 rules, plotting them on an Impact vs Feasibility graph, and then committing to do 2 specific ones.
@RobertTalbert Love this icebreaker. Students also have to care about what they are doing; usually what they are "good" at is an activity they like, and where they have found success which thankfully continues the positive cycle. Added question, "Why do I care about doing well?"

"Creating that sense of being “needed,” however, is a challenge."https://t.co/zQ7u7R5H6m Students and faculty need to feel the importance of depending upon one another. Looking forward to @kravisteaching New Faculty Cohort @loomischaffee diving deep into this idea soon!
Thanks to the Alvord Center @loomischaffee@KravisTeaching for #placebasedlearning classroom set up! French scholars explored, collaborated, questioned, drew, and learned outdoors with their classmates. Extending the mind, by changing the space in which we learn @anniemurphypaul
