BOI presented a dividend cheque of ₹1,553 crore to Hon'ble Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman (@nsitharaman). Presented by our MD & CEO, Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, in the presence of Smt Shalini Pandit, Joint Secretary, DFS, and our Executive Directors.
Today’s nationwide one-day strike under the banner of UFBU has been a resounding success, sending a loud, clear, and unmistakable message in support of our legitimate and long-pending demand for 5 Days Banking.
*On behalf of @aiboc_ms1 and @BOIOAMNG, we place on record our heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation to all members who participated wholeheartedly in the strike and joined the rally in huge, disciplined, and spirited numbers, making the Dharna at the historic Azad Maidan, Mumbai, truly impactful and memorable.*
*The roaring and resolute presence of BOIOA Mumbai–Goa Unit members was particularly inspiring.* It reflected the unity, conviction, and unwavering solidarity of our cadre towards the common cause of 5 Days Banking, a commitment that has long remained pending despite repeated assurances.
*This collective action once again reaffirms an undeniable truth — unity is our greatest strength. At the same time, today also calls for quiet introspection by those who chose to remain indifferent*. Hard-fought and legitimate demands are not secured through passive expectation, but through shared resolve, active participation, and collective responsibility.
The struggle does not end here. If the Government continues to remain indifferent and fails to honour its commitment, we must be prepared for further, stronger, and more decisive agitational programmes.
Let us remain united, vigilant, and fully prepared.
Together, we shall succeed.
Watch this video highlighting the invaluable contribution of bank employees, who continue to await their long-overdue entitlement to a healthy work–life balance through the introduction of a five-day work week.
India has gone digital. Banking has gone 24×7. Only bankers are still stuck with a 6-day work week.
Modern systems demand modern work practices. Work-life balance is not a luxury—it’s essential for productivity, accountability, and better public service. Bankers deserve the same 5-day work structure followed across sectors.
Promises made must be promises kept.
#BankersDemand5DayWeek
Bank employees power India’s financial stability, inclusion, and growth—often at the cost of their own well-being. A 5-day work week is not a concession; it’s a long-pending reform. The commitment is on record. It must be implemented.
#BankersDemand5DayWeek#AIBOC@fboioa_india
Longer hours do not mean better outcomes.
Exhausted employees don’t deliver innovation, efficiency, or customer trust.
Modern economies protect their workforce to strengthen institutions.
India’s banks deserve the same reform.

Dear Netizens,
We regret the anticipated inconvenience on 27.01.2026 by bankers due to
- Lackluster Attitude of Govt on #5DaysBanking
- Despite MoU signed between IBA & UFBU in Dec 2023
- Despite inclusion of it in signed BPS/Joint note in Mar 2024
Thanks for understanding 🙏
@WeekendInvestng First clear your confusion
Bankers are demanding #5DaysBanking because all regulators rbi, dfs etc working already 5 days
2nd point if Bankers get 5 day banking then they have to work extra 40 minutes per day so they are not getting it free
Late hours. High stress. No time for self and family.
Bankers can’t keep paying the price of a 6-day workweek.
We demand 5-Day Banking — for dignity, health & family life.

India runs on 24×7 digital banking — but bankers are still expected to run on fatigue.
Systems get upgrades. Policies get reviews.
Only people are expected to keep going without pause.
Efficiency cannot be built on exhaustions.
#5DaysBanking
Bankers are not machines.
We work extended hours, handle public pressure, financial risk, and national responsibility—yet are denied the dignity of a 5-day workweek.
Equality cannot be selective.
This injustice must end.
