Taking to X, Union Minister @PiyushGoyal shared that India has now surpassed 2 lakh government-recognised startups, with over 44,000 new entities recognised in 2025 alone—the highest annual addition since the inception of the @startupindia initiative.
Highlighting inclusivity, nearly 48% of these startups have at least one woman director or partner, and collectively, they have created over 21 lakh direct jobs.
According to the tweet, the achievement has been supported by:
- ₹25,320+ crore invested in 1,350+ startups through Alternative Investment Funds under the Fund of Funds for Startups Scheme.
- ₹775+ crore disbursed under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups.
- Over ₹585 crore approved for 3,200+ startups via the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme.
- 16,400+ new patent applications filed by startups
- 34,800+ recognised startups onboarded on @GeM_India
Goyal added that Prime Minister @narendramodi’s push for an #Aatmanirbhar #ViksitBharat has inspired entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators, and that this momentum will continue to drive growth, opportunities, and prosperity in the coming year.
