Something that isn’t talked about nearly enough!
The high and happiness of finding out you’re pregnant to the immediate downhill spiral detox from mental health mediations. Everyone is different and there is no right way to do this, but as someone who has never had a problem with drugs or addiction, this is the scariest shit I’ve been through even with this being baby #2. It’s terrifying that primary care physicians can prescribe medications and tell you “you’re on the lowest dose, just ween off for the next week and you won’t even notice” I love my PCP but that is the farthest from the truth! Mental health medications should only be prescribed from trained specialist. For insight, the medication I myself and detoxing from is Effexor 37.5mg and I’ve been going through hell for the last week, FULL BLOWN WITHDRAWALS…. I started out MEAN, like mean mean, but then it’s all… Panic/anxiety attacks from the second I wake up, the most intense suicidal thoughts, hot/cold flashes, nightmares when all you wanna do is sleep the day away.. just to name a few. I never want to go through this again but I want to do the best I can for my baby and be a functioning mother to my two year old. I feel fucking useless and batshit crazy and I don’t know how anyone could go through this without support.
