@pijoe1212 @1sthand2 @PolemicTMM As someone who lives in a part of the world where AC is basically a necessity, I've got reversible air-air units for the few weeks in the year where heating's needed, and they're not ideal for that job. Great at cooling (descending air), heating not so much - ok but not great

@pijoe1212 @PolemicTMM Some aren't even locked out! Early in the heat pump propaganda campaign I saw a report of people who'd chosen an air-to-air system specifically because it meant they could use it as AC in summer (wafting warm air around your ceiling in winter makes for crap heating though😄)

The BBC today has an article containing a warning of the dangers of AC refrigerants which are "greenhouse gases" and "often leak". Which is alarmist BS, but if true, would mean "heat pumps bad"

Books will have had to be selling just to stay within notional limits & not likely able to convince risk mgmt to increase book size just to accommodate rising mkt
