UPDATE: Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara has directed Isingiro District CAO Alice Asiimwe and her team to refund Shs5.3 billion paid for a 7.09km road project in Kabingo Town Council, alleging no work was done. #NTVNews

He said he will ask the ministry’s Permanent Secretary to recall and interdict the CAO pending an audit.

The state prosecution Mr Jatiko, biribuvumbuka and Justice Baguma connivance with the court attempted to impose legal representation on Dr. Kizza Besigye and Obed Lutale. However Dr Kizza Besigye has just given them and the Court a lecture on the interpretation of Article 28 of the Constitution.

According to multiple witnesses who work in the area, the incident unfolded around 5.40 PM when the suspects arrived in a Toyota Noah and tried to abduct someone.

After a failed attempt, bystanders began to gather, the men had to fire several shots into the air to disperse the crowd before speeding off.

Police are yet to issue a statement on this.
