@ERICUNO1@Perrincapybara@5ro4 How are freelancers "whatever', its a major part of the game produced by people out of house, not very independent. with a simple search you can find out who riotloc are and what they do but since you cant they have provided game localization (translations) for many story games
@ERICUNO1@Perrincapybara@5ro4 They outsourced the combat animations to Korean freelancers, one notably being Sylvan Kim, and localization was done by the company Riotloc. Not very independent when some major parts of the game were done by external parties
@DarkHorseWrites@Fleechiru They outsourced work to other studios for both combat animations and game localization, over 400 people are credited working on the game when sandfall only had about 30 employees, it wasnt independently funded, wasnt independently published, what about it makes it indie?
@Vention11@EMemetron@Gablablin2@TheNCSmaster such as instead of a one time fee they should push for pay based on the frequency in which the studio uses their ai model, so when new content gets added using the actors ai model they get compensated for their likeness continuously being used in the game
@Vention11@EMemetron@Gablablin2@TheNCSmaster sure, but as there are VAs who disagree with AI there are most certainly games that refuse to use AI in their project to begin with, I dont foresee every game in the future switching to AI voice acting. as for pay they should only sign the contract if the compensation is fair
@EMemetron@Gablablin2@TheNCSmaster as long as they are paying the voice actors for their work and that embark keeps these ai models in house to use on the projects that both parties signed off on i fail to see how this is an issue or how it hurts voice actors
@EMemetron@Gablablin2@TheNCSmaster each ai model is tied to the actor who trained it so if they want entirely different voices for new characters they would have to contract new voice actors to come train a new ai model. its simply a tool that lets developers create new content quickly
@EMemetron@Gablablin2@TheNCSmaster It uses machine learning for the enemy arc so that they can learn and adapt from player behavior (which aligns with their story/lore) and for the voice ai they contracted real voice actors to train their model on, how is any of this a bad use of ai?
