Sadio Mane, a Senegalese soccer star, earns approximately $10.2 million annually. He gave the world a rude awakenng after some fans were flabbergasted when they saw him carrying a cracked iPhone 11. His response was awesome:
"Why would I want ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches, and two jet planes? I starved, I worked in the fields, played brefoot, and I didn't go to school. Now I can help people. I prefer to build schools and give poor people food or clothing. I have built schools and a stadium, provide clothes, shoes, and food for people in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people from a very poor Senegalese region in order to contribute to their family economy. I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips, and even planes. I prefer that my people receive some of what life has given me.

“Today is my 89th birthday.
My name is Joseph, and I am sitting here, in a retirement home, with a plate of dumplings in front of me. I don't know who made these for me, nor who will wish me a happy birthday today. I have three kids but haven't seen them in a long time. They brought me here telling me it was for my own good, but time goes by, and the phone does not ring.
I am not angry, I am sad.
Sad because, deep in my heart, I never stopped loving them, despite their absence. Sad because I don’t ask for much: just a hug, a word, a “Happy Birthday, Dad. ”
I just wish somebody would remember me today.
If you’re reading this message, give me a thought. Not because you know me, but because even a stranger can bring some warmth where there is silence.
At my age, you live on memories and hope.
And today, my hope is that this message gets to the hearts of those who have forgotten to value affection, before it is too late. ”
❤️ To all the dads and grandfathers that have been left alone, best wishes. You are loved, even if sometimes they don't tell you. ❤️
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to read everything in detail, but from what I could gather, this seems West Africa .Who in a professional setup addresses their boss as “Ma”?If you are comfortable with being addressed as such then you are not a Leader.I believe the focus should be on performance and output rather than the exact time someone arrives, unless there are critical meetings that are repeatedly being missed.
As a leader you should foster a culture of trust and create an environment where team members communicate openly. If that was the case he would have informed you when he was going to be late and why.I’ve observed a concerning trend where some managers, particularly female managers weaponise their authority to assert control. Leadership should not be about instilling fear or proving who is in charge; it’s about building trust, transparency, and openness. As a Leader you should ask yourself this question “Will I be happy to be treated the way I treat my subordinates”?
Don't entertain negative energy. Some situations will test your patience and try to make you overreact, overthink, and respond to things that don't deserve your life force. Your attention is your power. Don't feed what doesn't add value to your life. Conserve your energy.
