Sometimes, I have to pinch myself to accept that a volunteer did some searching and found these letters in the Library of Congress that my mom wrote to Wernher von Braun in 1959, the letter he wrote back, and the one I wrote to him in response, all told in my memoir Rocket Boys. I never expected to see them again and why of all the letters WvB had to have received, the historians decided to keep these. God writes our story even when we think we have the pen in our hand.
Thanks so much to the Outreach Officers @TheJR for zooming in to the Massachusetts Marine Educators Conference today. So much to learn about #exp399 and the science that goes on there! #IODP#oceanresearch
Assembling the re-entry cone for #Exp399 aboard @TheJR. The cone will allow us to come back and sample the borehole later in this expedition and, hopefully, in future expeditions.
A3: Bringing STEM professionals into the classroom is a great way to bridge the gap between the classroom and the scientific community and provide science to all learners. @TheJR provides free tours of the ship https://t.co/qDiYKc5MA3 ⛴️#einsteinfellows22
