I’ve received some truly heartbreaking news, please read.

Mike, who has helped me build Andy’s Bet Club over the past few years, was diagnosed with bowel cancer at the start of this year. He’s been through six months of chemotherapy, but before even finishing his treatment, the cancer became so aggressive that nothing further can be offered here other than palliative care.

There is now one final treatment option available to him, but it involves major surgery and it isn’t covered by the NHS, meaning it has to be funded privately.

This is someone I’ve worked closely with for years, and I honestly can’t put into words how gutted I am for him, his family and his daughters.

The amount needed is huge, but I’m hoping that as a community we can come together and help Mike in any way we can.

The best football story you'll read today.

I came across it while looking at the week ahead and thought it was worth sharing.

Mjallby have the chance to become champions of Sweden which would make them the biggest surprise league winners since Leicester won the Premier League back in 2016.

For some context that has been blowing my mind, Mjallby play in a fishing village with a population of around 1,300 people and they're on the verge of winning their first-ever title.

Their stadium is literally located about 50 yards from the sea so I can only imagine they've lost a few balls over the years.

They have one of the smallest budgets in the league and they were playing in the third tier seven years ago.

Their captain Jesper Gustavsson made his debut in 2013 and played for them in a third tier relegation battle.

The story behind their manager Anders Torstensson is wild too. He doesn't have much experience in football at all.

He was at the club as a player but he never made an appearance and then went on to spend a decade in the military.

He then went on to become a school headteacher and coached football locally before rising to create this miracle.

If Mjallby win tonight they'll have the highest points total of any title winner in Sweden this decade, they've romped the league.

They've won 19/26 matches so far, lost just once, and they comfortably have the best defence in the Allsvenskan having conceded just 17 times.

There's no pressure on them to win tonight though as they're eight points clear and Hammarby as the closest chasers have just three games left to play this season. It's definitely one to keep an eye on.

The Mjallby story feels reminiscent of Bodo Glimt over the border. The out-of-nowhere rise, the fishing village location, the yellow and black colours.

I'm not too clued up on how they play in honesty, but they could be another side who make strides in Europe next season as well.
