There are some good reasons.

I was raised LDS and have seen both sides.

If lumped with the other denominations, it means the DoW would think offering them wine and communion wafers would be acceptable for Sacrament.

Expecting it to be administered by somebody ordained in another denomination and not holding LDS Aaronic or Melchizedek Priesthood.

It would mean a Chaplain who doesn't know or understand the Word of Wisdom or Articles of Faith.

It would mean going to a Chaplain that does not accept the Book of Mormon, Doctrine of Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, or the idea of a living Prophet.

It would mean expecting LDS to see other denominations baptism as the same thing. LDS only accept their own baptism.

Christ’s name is on our Church for a reason.

@sometherapist Law - the ideal we should live up to
Gospel - the mercy because Christ was literally a sacrifice to atone for our sins.

@sometherapist Even in the Old Testament, there was a path to being forgiven for their sins - by sacrificing the first born of their livestock. It was a predictor of the sacrifice of Christ.

I like the way the LCMS divide it between Law and Gospel.

@SantaDecides Have you consider LCMS (Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod)? (NOTE: not all Lutheran churches are the same and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is woke)

@lecternleader Try an LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod). They do limit who they ordain as Pastors, but also stick to scripture.

@AcidKritana May I suggest Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. The focus is scripture interprets scripture, and not a Pope who elevates himself to speak for God.

@GigaBasedDad My experience has been most LCMS Congregations have kept to the older Lutheran ways. A few offer Contemporary services but they are a minority. ELCA on the other hand has become woke. (It was an ELCA congregation that did the Sparkle Creed a few years ago)
