It’s good that Deseret Book took down their cross-dressing book for children. We hope Deseret Management Corporation makes Deseret Book Great Again and roots out the rot in their acquisitions department.

The original mission at their founding was to publish books by leaders of the @Ch_JesusChrist At a time where publishing infrastructure wasn’t available to the Saints and to run supply chain and retail distribution for official materials.

Now, Deseret Book acts more like a monopoly, who smothers or buys competitors while having the veneer of Church endorsement making the organization George Q. Cannon started unnecessary and unrecognizable. DB has bought and dismantled competitors for the last 25 years.

We have no authority to tell the Church how to run DMC or their holdings at Deseret Book. But when the torch bearer that is the only LDS publisher of note, is dropping her torch, we notice.
