Super news for #HumanRightsDay - Bhutan 🇧🇹 has voted to decriminalise homosexuality. Global decriminalisation by 2030 is a core goal of our Human Rights Forum, and today's news makes us very happy! #YouAreIncluded#HRD https://t.co/qt0dP0E55E
Our patron @wesstreeting sat on the cross-party HIV Commission which today, on #WorldAIDSDay, released a report on how we can end HIV transmission in England by 2030.
Listen to him talk below about how, together, we can achieve this goal ⤵️
THREAD: We hear the Tavistock are *already* cancelling appointments for young people who have waited 2+ years to be seen for life-saving hormone blockers. This reckless Amendment by @NHSEngland means they are now effectively being refused treatment. 1/

The writer of this thread is cis. I have no lived experience of this. And I urge people to listen to the voices of trans people, including trans youth. But we all must stand together. Because of solidarity and morality, and because it will not end here. And people will die.
We are concerned not only about ramifications for Gillick competence, and angry that trans kids are treated as less able than cis kids, we are also worried for the loss of hope amongst trans kids and the resulting potential for loss of life. It’s horrifying. #TransRights
Bodily autonomy should be a fundamental right. Cis or trans. And if something as big as puberty changing their body causes such distress to a child or teenager? They should have every right to put that on hold for a few years until they can make a more permanent choice (or not).
For trans kids, “suspension of puberty is not only not unethical: if it is likely to improve the child’s quality of life and even save his or her life, then it is indeed unethical to defer treatment.” Dr S. Giordano, Journal of Medical Ethics 2008

Goes to show you can win a contentious election whilst explicitly speaking up for #TransRights, #AbortionRights, and the rights of ethnic minorities against hatred and discrimination. The Senate won’t make it easy but there’s hope. May the world listen. #BidenHarris2020
Congratulations to @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris on this important victory. Please remember the minority people whose work got you the win today. From Native Americans to LGBT+ to Hispanic people to Black America especially Black women. Good Luck. #AmericaDecides2020
Whilst we are still waiting on national results it is great to see so many #LGBTQ people voted into office, breaking so many records, and so diverse too. Congratulations to all of them. #AmericaElection
LGBTI+ people are not “ideologies” or “agendas” or “issues.” We are people. Any characterisation of our right to exist and thrive as "political", rather than a matter of fact, is itself an overtly political position.
News that the #BBC are banning some journalists from attending Pride is highly disturbing, and is not helped by singling out trans people. It all but amounts to forcing #LGBT+ journalists to be silent on who they are and discrimination they face. It’s a journalistic #section28

Today is #IntersexAwarenessDay, a day that hopes to highlight an often forgotten, stigmatised and medicalised group. They face challenges unique to intersex people, their voices silenced. Not all Intersex people see themselves as #LGBT+ but we stand in solidarity regardless.
