The FIFA confirmed that it does not intend to take any disciplinary action against Egyptian coach Hossam Hassan after he raised the Palestinian flag, despite a campaign by Israeli groups and media outlets calling for his punishment.
The organization added that flags representing any of FIFA's 211 member associations are welcome at its tournaments, provided they comply with stadium regulations and FIFA's Code of Conduct. It also noted that the Palestinian Football Association is an official FIFA member.
FIFA's statement comes after a widespread Israeli campaign demanding sanctions against Hossam Hassan over his public display of solidarity with Palestine.
Playing the Trump Card.
Under Infantino, there’s no longer such thing as an ‘independent FIFA Committee.’
There is only the ‘FIFA Committees for the protection of image, promotion of autocrats and any and all regimes with money to fill FIFA pockets, and the capitulation to power irrespective of the damage to what’s left of its Statutes or the integrity of the game.’
Trump proudly proclaims how he influenced the unprecedented decision during a World Cup.
What an embarrassment for football.
Just to be clear, then. FIFA:
1) can't possibly intervene when Iran are forced to move, a referee is denied a visa, or fans are barred from the USA
2) can absolutely intervene when a decision goes against the USA that Donald Trump doesn't like
Smashing. All know where we stand
La FIFA es una desgracia:
• Suspenden a Rusia, pero no a Israel
• Entregan a Trump un "Premio de la Paz"
• Messi es intocable
• Protegen a Argentina históricamente
• Cancelan tarjeta roja a petición de Trump
Los fans del fútbol en todo el mundo debemos sacar a Infantino y a todos los burócratas por robarse el juego más bonito del mundo, para hacer negocios sucios #FIFACorrupta
@translatingpal A brave man who was out to heal children is being detained without charges and is abused and now threatened to be killed. And nobody can do anything to release him?? What kind of world is this? Where are the “powerful leaders” of the world? This is a major stain on humanity!
@translatingpal Dear God. He really is unrecognisable in that photo.
Its very obvious that the intent of the psychopathic colony is to murder him. Slowly. And with impunity.
Where are all the human rights groups? Where are all the health organisations? Where is the UN @antonioguterres?!
@translatingpal Detaining Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya breaches Geneva protections for medical staff. 555+ days jailed without charge. reports of hammer beatings and critical injuries need urgent action from international courts. #FreeTheDoctors
Physicians for Human Rights Israel has warned that Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, is now in immediate danger of being killed in Israeli occupation custody. His lawyer, Nasser Odeh, who visited him on 2 July at the underground Rakefet interrogation facility inside Nitzan Prison, said he barely recognized him. Dr. Abu Safiya was brought in shackled hand and foot, flanked by masked guards, his head, eyes, ears and neck covered in fresh injuries. He struggled to breathe and speak, could not sit upright without nearly collapsing, and seemed close to losing consciousness, too frightened to speak freely.
He told his lawyer that after his Supreme Court appeal was heard in June, guards entered his solitary cell and beat him with a hammer and batons, and that since his transfer to Rakefet on 24 June he has been beaten daily to the point of repeatedly losing consciousness, with no medical care. He said plainly: this is the last time you will see me, they brought me here to kill me. Held since December 2024 under the occupation's "Unlawful Combatants" law, without charge or trial, Dr. Abu Safiya saw his beatings escalate sharply only after he legally challenged his detention, and both his lawyer and PHRI are demanding his immediate transfer, an independent medical examination and his release, warning that any delay could cost him his life.
AHPRA is under pressure to police the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism. Doctors and nurses critical of Israel could now risk their jobs for a social media post. How is that conducive to social cohesion?
One of the most brutal scenes in human history has been leaked.
The amount of explosives that Israel dropped on the Gaza Strip exceeded the power of the two atomic bombs that the United States dropped on Japan at the end of World War II.
A video that the world must never forget.
I am in tears. President Trump JUST posted the US Search & Rescue Team saving a baby in Venezuela trapped under rubble
THANK GOD THIS BABY WAS SAVED
CHRIST IS KING 🙏
They were playing at a distinct disadvantage to the other teams. Arriving early, already fatigued. Going through extreme levels of scrutiny through each and every border pass. Despite everything they showed class and performed well regardless of the unfair challenges.
The U.S. appears determined to seek revenge for its battlefield defeat on the sports field.
The Iranian national team traveled directly from Seattle Stadium in the United States to the airport and returned to Mexico. Arrived at 04:00 am.
The United States is not qualified to host international sporting events.
This has been the most unfair World Cup for Iran.
Thank you, Mexico. 🇲🇽
Special message from the national team in the locker room to Iranians and people around the world
Message from the national team on the locker room board:
💬From ancient Iran, thousands of years old, to today's civilized Iran, the spirit of Iran has remained alive and strong.
💬We came to Los Angeles with pride, competed with chivalry, and leave this city with pride.
💬Los Angeles, we thank you for your hospitality.
💬And we thank all the Iranians who stood for Iran with all their hearts, voices, and beings during these 180 minutes.
💬We wish peace, respect, and friendship among all the nations of the world.
“There immigrants are better than our immigrants. And the immigrant ref has a cramp. #worldcup
Every team packed with immigrants. This game is a disgrace.”

🚨🗣️New: Thierry Henry reacts to the USA vs Paraguay stoppage for TV commercials:
“I’ve spent my entire life in this beautiful game — as a player at the highest level, as a fan, and now as someone who analyses it every week — and what unfolded during that USA versus Paraguay match left me deeply frustrated. The fourth official standing there on the touchline, arm raised high, instructing the referee to hold the restart… not for any injury, not for tactical reasons, and not even primarily for player hydration in that scorching heat. No. It was because the broadcast team hadn’t finished airing all their commercials. That’s not football. That’s a television show pretending to be a World Cup match.
The beautiful game is being strangled by greed. Players are out there in the heat, ready to restart, momentum building like a storm about to break — and we pause everything so the sponsors can cash in. It’s like stopping a symphony mid-crescendo because the advertisers want their jingle heard. Football didn’t conquer the world by turning into American sports with endless timeouts and ad breaks. We had rhythm, flow, emotion that flowed like a river. Now? It’s dammed up for dollars.
This isn’t about hydration or player welfare anymore — it’s a slippery slope where the soul of the game is sold piece by piece. Fans deserve better. Players deserve better. The referee on that pitch looked like a puppet on strings controlled from some broadcast truck. Enough is enough. We need to protect what made this sport the greatest on Earth before it disappears completely.”
The World Cup should be football’s cathedral. Instead, we’re turning it into a shopping mall with a pitch in the middle.
And here’s the question nobody wants to answer: if the fourth official is waiting for commercials, then who is really running the game? FIFA? The referee? Or the broadcasters?
Because the moment football starts asking advertisers for permission before asking the players, you’ve crossed a line.
The World Cup is supposed to be the showcase of football. Not the showcase of who paid the most for airtime.”
