Whether prostate cancer is more common in Black men than other groups remains an open question, a urologist at the Mayo Clinic says.
But it is sometimes more aggressive in Black men, he adds. https://t.co/1YD4fwUNnT
Erick Peretz, 58, and his 16-year-old daughter, Ruth, were murdered by Hamas while attending the Supernova music festival on October 7.
Erick had taken Ruth, who was born with cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, and used a wheelchair, to the festival because of her love of music.
“For years he would go to these festivals and bring Ruth because it made her really happy and she loved it,” said Ya’arit Peretz, Erick’s daughter, and Ruth’s sister. “There were times he would take her and she didn’t want to come home. It was their tradition, to go to festivals.”
The pair were both missing for many days as their family searched frantically for information before they were informed that their bodies had been found more than 10 days after the attack.
Erick devoted his life to Ruth. He was an incredible father, a man with a free spirit, who loved everyone and was always smiling.
May the memories of Erick and Ruth forever be a blessing.

I just had one of my best speaking engagements ever with Edward Jones centered around the importance of DEI in St. Louis! The auditorium was packed with 600 people, and another 8,000 live-streamed to watch 👏🏾
I enjoyed weighing in on the significance of prioritizing DEI work and how it can positively impact society. Along with creating a level playing field and promoting equitable opportunities, it also has the potential to boost the ROI in corporate America.
Thank you to Managing Partner Penny Pennington, Chief Transformation Officer Kristin Johnson, Head of DEI Jennifer Kingston, and Principal/General Partner Vanessa Okuraiwe for their unbelievable work in DEI at Edward Jones. What a strong way to begin Black History Month!
Melanesia, literally, the "dark islands" is the most culturally diverse of the three Pacific island regions.
Individuals run the spectrum of body type and skin color, while social organization can be simple to chiefly hierarchies. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect about Melanesia is the wide diversity of languages spoken among groups of people living relatively close to each other.
Black history is Canadian history. This #BlackHistoryMonth, we’re honouring the achievements of Black Canadians, both past and present. We’re celebrating Black culture and heritage. And we’re recommitting to building a more diverse and welcoming country. https://t.co/Lu7BB9yof8
On this day in 1865, the 13th Amendment of the United States Constitution was passed, abolishing slavery. How Slavery continued after the 13th amendment ‘abolished slavery’
A THREAD!
It isn’t always easy for Black men to talk openly about mental health. But organizations like Generation Chosen and community hubs like Onyx Barbers are changing that. Today, we sat down to speak about the change that’s happening – and about how, together, we can end the stigma.
On this day in 1960, four black college students staged a sit-in at a whites-only lunch counter at Woolworth's in Greensboro, NC.
They sparked a national movement across the country. Instructions were simple: sit quietly and wait to be served. #BlackHistoryMonth

A charter school in North Carolina is requiring Native boys to cut their hair.
Should Native American boys be allowed to wear their hair long at school?

She arrived at #Auschwitz on 20 August 1942 in a transport of 997 Jews deported from Drancy. She was among the 897 people murdered in a gas chamber after selection.
The KKK was about to brutalized a teenager. And it looks like these white folks have no problem with it. Thankful Brother stepped in and put a stop to that. Things will get worse. The white supremacists are not playing. And we better get prepare.
Do not forget that the apartheid state of South Africa was created to legally give white supremacy power over everyone else. This is what is happening in 2023 through these "anti-woke" laws banning books, inciting violence, removing Black history, taking away rights & more
Just passed the site of the Combahee Ferry Raid on our way to Savannah. On June 2, 1863, Harriet Tubman became the first woman to lead a major military operation in the U.S. when she and 150 Black Union soldiers rescued more than 700 enslaved Gullah Geechee during the Civil War.
They had to portray Natives as “godless savages.” Because when you dehumanize an entire race of people — it makes it much more easier to genocide them.
Native history IS U.S history. Teach it. All of it. To hopefully — prevent its repetition.
