Wendell Berry on poetry-
“Thus the art, so private in execution, is also communal and filial. It can only exist as a common ground between the poet and other poets and other people, living and dead.
It's jarring to read about how your average WWI British veteran thought that his service was worthwhile & that the Sassoons and Owenses were the outliers.
Like how some think every GWOT vet is bitter when something like 80%+ post 9/11 vets describe their service as worth it.
@bellocck@WASPmexicano Wilfred Owen was killed in combat a week before the armistice. What are you talking about? Did you think he was writing from a place of safety?
@Libertyordaeth@Purple_Pupp@AmericanCrime01 Don’t you see the hilarious irony in your X handle being “Liberty or death” then going to bat for what are essentially tyrannical fiefdoms ran by boomers hell bent on keeping black, Mexican, and people they deem “other” from bringing down their property values.
@JackPosobiec Too bad he’s on the side of the car out of harms way when he decides to murder her. At least the jury will watch the entire video instead of cherry picked picture when he’s on trial.
@average_R_W_E@emzanotti Don’t worry Emily this fella is just a soy boy tough guy poser that hunts deer from a box blind with a crossbow. He’s trying to compensate.
@johnson_do48707@MikeCosper Don, you cannot talk rationally with Mike on this topic. His brain is similar to the MAGA cultist in that dear leader can do no wrong, in this case Netenyahu, and that what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears is propaganda perpetuated by the media.
