We are a collective of Local Medical Committees (LMC) across the UK providing mutual support to each other. Website/forum/WhatsApp/Monthly meet ups etc.
General practice workload in the UK is experiencing significant pressures, with GPs facing increased patient numbers, growing complexity of cases, and rising administrative burdens, leading to potential burnout and impacting patient care.
We're at the BMA's Conference of UK LMC representatives in Belfast between 13 and 15 May 2026 with a stand and speaking slot on the Friday at 11.30am aimed at ensuring that the role and suppport provided by the Network is very clear. Come and see us then. @BMA_GP
There are now 138 fewer full-time equivalent GPs than a year ago.
Fewer doctors. More patients. Rising pressure.
This isn’t sustainable - general practice needs urgent support.

Did I say the right thing?
It’s a thought that many staff take home after a difficult conversation with a patient.
Our training gives you the confidence, skills and reassurance to handle these moments and leave work without carrying that weight.

GPs want the same things that you do and believe nobody should struggle to see their family doctor.
General Practice is broken.
Help us fix it.

We've been pretty quiet on X for a while due to heightened tensions about use of the platform.
We continue to exist to support GPs thought their local Medical Committees and look forward to having our stand at the UK Conference of LMCS next month in Belfast.
GPs you need to take action and take control of your workload.
Our safe working guidance helps protect you as an individual, protect your practice as an entity and above all protect patient safety.

See our high-level summary of the 10 Year Health Plan for England highlighting aspects of direct impact to GPs.
The Plan currently reads more like a wish list than roadmap to change with clear milestones and resource allocations so devils and details etc. https://t.co/QjmFEszDfl

In the past week we have had new funding agreed to enable us to look ahead supporting LMCs, and thus GPs and their practices. We also had our first LMCSN steering group meeting with passionate LMC leads helping to ensure that we shape up to deliver optimal support. A good week.
The Government should consider ‘abolishing’ NHS Property Services (NHSPS) and writing off GP debt, a report by an influential membership body has argued https://t.co/MR8hKxydVQ

Why should your heart age,
Matter to you? ❤️
If your heart age is older than your actual age, you could be at increased risk of having a heart attack or stroke.

Big NHS interview on @BBCr4today with @amolrajan and @AmandaPritchard - and it was all hospitals, hospitals, hospitals. Only mention of GP was how hard it was to get an appt. Come on R4 you can do better. Gen practice is the only part of the NHS with year on year zero deficits….
