General Practice in Nottinghamshire delivered over 8.1 million appointments in 2025 serving a population of almost 1.29 million delivered by 126 practices.
GPs aren't lazy or slow, they work flat out with their teams to do the impossible-with less than 10% of the NHS budget.
@RobSissons1 It's interesting to see where this goes. For patients who were paying multinational corporations to provide GP care it's a sobering reminder that local GPs with knowledge of local referral and prescribing guidelines are much more helpful.
It was good meeting @MichelleWelshMP at the Byron PCN meeting yesterday.
Talk of what we can influence locally and nationally to improve patient care at a time of great change. @NottsLMC
@GPonlinenews We cannot stand by and watch government changes bury the profession and therefore harm patients. We're fully behind @BMA_GP and @doctor_katie demands of the government to make this safer for all.

Listen to our Chair @DrShanHussain speaking on BBC Radio Nottingham this morning about the new contractual requirement in place from today for GP surgeries to keep online consultation software open throughout core opening hours (0800-1830 Mon-Fri).
See our high-level summary of the 10 Year Health Plan for England highlighting aspects of direct impact to GPs.
The Plan currently reads more like a wish list than roadmap to change with clear milestones and resource allocations so devils and details etc. https://t.co/QjmFEszDfl

NOTICE TO PATIENTS OF NOTTINGHAM/NOTTINGHAMSHIRE GENERAL PRACTICES.
Due to changes in the Laboratory Information Management Systems at our local hospitals (QMC, KMH), there are many issues taking a lot of time to ensure patients continue to be served as they should be. (1 of 2)
Ready to meet the future of the GP profession at the Early Career GP Conference for East Midlands. Great to represent Nottinghamshire and discuss the challenges our colleagues face and how we can support them. Come and say hi to Tash and Stu.
The plan for today is to meet our constituent practices in Bassetlaw. Always proud to promote our work supporting them more than ever during these challenging times.
Whilst the weather outside is glorious, being invited to Mid Notts PLT session today is also as glorious. Great to meet with primary care colleagues and promote our work supporting our practices. Our Practice Liaison Officer Stu on the road today.
Finally - the key opportunity to fix the front door to the NHS, and bring back the family doctor.
The NHS sees 1.7m pts/day. 1.5m in @BMA_GP
Looking forward to working with @SKinnock & @wesstreeting@DHSCgovuk ๐

@BenAllenGP read out his poem 'From Harrowing to Hope? - A GPs day' at our annual conference yesterday. The case for investment and support for continuity of care in general practice is made better here than in many corporate dossiers. @BMA_GP@wesstreeting@DrShanHussain
It was an awesome day yesterday at our annual conference at Norwood Park yesterday. All about inspiring, sharing and taking control with expert speakers and workshops. Thank you to everyone who came.
Thanks to @steveyemm for meeting with us and GPs/PMs from Mansfield recently. We look forward to conversations with @wesstreeting. Investing in general practice is the answer. https://t.co/g3agSjIvDC
