I'm guessing the standard for an elite second baseman would be to come up with it cleanly and get the runner only if he is relatively slow.

@STL_Stats_Facts It's not that analytics hate Gwynn. It's just that analytics show guys like Mike Schmidt (or even Dale Murphy in his prime) were significantly more valuable despite hitting 50+ points lower BA. Gwynn is still an all time great without BA overvaluation.

@bentgrassdoctor When he drove the green on 17, he was still +5300, which was before Thorby had hit his 11 ft eagle putt. I scrambled to jump in, but had to accept +4700. He mightve gone to 60+ after the Thorby eagle. Still, $5 in, $240 out. Only live bet I made at Wast Mgmt.

@privategolfacs I was saying this should be the strategy for LIV from Day 1. Poach the young talent. The system, like most every other professional sport monopoly, involves veterans and owners conspiring to devalue young talent. The Tour has made some steps to address it, we will see.

@nut_history Posey is a lock. Lester doesn't get in on stats alone, but some combo of: (a) new standard for SP; (b) three rings with two storied franchises; and (c) cancer survivor during career, probably gets him a nod from a committee down the road. Better than Baines, that's for sure.
