@CookieJarBandts@ScoringChanges That was my first thought reading this post is iy would definitely throw a monkey wrench into the pace of play initiative if they had to wait for ABS on every pitch. Those couple extra seconds add up. Thanks for confirming my initial thought.
@marcushartman@TicketOpsProbz Exactly. One of my former employers had us submit a football game day media credential count to the ticket office to diligently help get to the final attendance number. We usually announced something like 2,000 over the stated capacity.
I smile whenever I see Rosenblatt Stadium. I really do. Can only imagine what it meant for Creighton to win a CWS game there and upset the No. 2 seed as well.
@durag12th@rcb05 Beat me to the comment I was going to make about how baseball and softball teams can lose four times in the NCAA tournament and still be the national champion.
@W_Drehs I don’t think people outside of this area realize that Northwest Indiana is part of Chicagoland. It’s not unlike the Jets and Giants playing in New Jersey or the Chiefs soon to play in Kansas. Or if the Bengals hypothetically crossed the river to Kentucky and the Panthers to SC.
@MikeMonaco_@DiamondHeels Always one of my favorite places to visit. Just a lovely quintessential college town and campus also close enough to a major airport to make it highly convenient for travel.
Imagine having to explain to someone seeing Wazzu vs Oregon St in Eugene that this is not a Pac 12 Tournament game, but an NCAA Regional of a Mountain West team vs an Independent team at a Big Ten stadium.
@ESPN_Schick Softball maintains its run rule through the NCAA tournament. I feel like it would be even more valuable in baseball where you save a couple of innings from your pitchers that could be better used later in the weekend.
@ChrisVannini A three over a two is nothing to shake a stick at but what it’s especially impressive to me is three No. 4s winning so far when between the discrepancy in the teams and the fact that they’re doing it in a road game setting.
@Cabforpitt@ScoringChanges Correct. But I was giving credit in the post to Shohei Ohtani for teaching that to a lot of people who may have been unaware.
Congratulations to Tyler! Been a pleasure crossing paths with him the past couple of years working @FightingIrish games for ESPN and at my summer job with the @SBCubs
@MattBrownEP I’m not sure they are using the right methodology though by looking at the full 14 weeks of the season and not just home game weeks. I feel like the correct figure should be about half of what is quoted?
