💯 sometimes the SID and coach will pronounce a player’s name differently. There’s an art to writing a pronunciation guide for game notes and some it do better than others. Using tech to cut out the middle man is always best when you can’t ask the player directly.

@WinterSportsLaw I think it’s the freedom of movement as much as the payments. Payments entice, but if former top recruits stuck on an elite P4 bench or rising G6/FCS talents still had to sit out a year when transferring up, there would be less talent distribution even with large cash inducements

@SchowCannon @HorsemenPod Can confirm. You might think this clip was last night? Couldn’t be more wrong. Last year leading Portland State 55-0. No one left early. I’ve done some awful FCS at P4 games all over the country and have never seen a stadium so full at the end. PS, there’s ample on field pyro too

@crisdiaz74 The PR guy in me is very eager to see what the statement from the conference office looks like about the clock. Clearly poor judgment on the interference non-call, but the clock issue is mechanical and not one but two replay angles show the ball touching down at 0:01.

You can debate whether the final play was pass interference (I think it was), but you cannot debate ND should have had 1 more play. The field clock and TV clock were both at :01 when the ball hit the turf. I’m old, and it’s late. I’m going to bed

@RefObserver17 Beyond the judgment call of the no call, there’s also the mechanical error of not putting a second back on the clock that wasn’t addressed. Just an officiating and booth failure all around on that play.

Not nice at all. I thought it was a good college town when I was there last year. I appreciated the variety of local coffee shops, hospitality, and a couple Friday night adult beverages at the bar, singular. Hotel was solid. Would gladly go back as the ESPN assignment wheel spins

@cfbcampustour @hotdog_alley Speaking of Boston, it’s just a shame that you didn’t make it to Northeastern Matthews Arena, which they tore down last year. It was the oldest indoor hockey rink in the world, opening in 1910.
