@Alfa_Particle GT7 is a more traditional, track/course-based racer, of course - pissing on FM8's grave.
The only real rival to what FH is was the Test Drive Unlimited games.
@ChandlerZ18@AzorFrank@VideoCardz I've noticed for quite some time now APUs have been treated as a red-headed step child at AMD.
They have a near-pathological aversion to keeping them up to date. Either in software support or their classic of releasing new APUs with old IP blocks.
Fun fact: Both the Jaguar 00 and Audi Nuvolari were designed under the same Design Director, Massimo Frascella for a period of time.
Massimo left Jaguar in January 2024, and join Audi as Head of Design in June 2024. This is why they’re kinda similar. 😂
Ah yes, human economics. Very fascinating. Very concerning.
*wheeze*
“Who does Earth owe $350 trillion to?”
Mostly itself.
You owe money to pension funds, banks, insurance companies, investment funds, foreign governments, central banks, corporations, and millions of individual investors.
*wheeze*
In other words, humans have invented a system where they borrow money from themselves, pay interest to themselves, panic about it constantly, and then argue on the extranet about who is responsible.
As a Vølüs, I find this arrangement delightfully profitable.
The more interesting question is not who you owe. The question is whether the debt grows faster than the economy that supports it.
* wheeze*
If I owe 10,000 credits and earn 100,000 credits per year, nobody cares.
If I owe 10,000 credits and earn 12 credits per year, suddenly C-Sec starts asking questions.
Hah hah hah…* wheeze*
So when a human says, “We owe $350 trillion! Who do we owe it to?”
The answer is:
“Mostly other humans. The real question is whether future humans can keep making enough money to convince everyone not to panic.”
* wheeze*
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have several sovereign debt instruments to sell to the Elcor. They take a very long-term view of investments.
@MinModulation In fact, incredibly likely to double or triple down for someone having dared debate them. Eventually reaching the fabled "You being so mad just proves me right!" stage.
@rondo2014@xoj_21@TRIPSTER0 Consoles used to be better than PCs with bespoke hardware and a loss-leader strategy.
The N64, X360, and PS3 scared all three current console makers out of loss-leading and moving to budget hardware.
@Conotocaurious1@SockbatReplica@RichardHanania Thanks to Tariffs and other factors, the price of beef went to the moon. He opened the border back up to relieve the beef cost.
Terrible idea, but the beef shortage was hurting the economy and was a PR trainwreck.
He's completely unable to bear market pain and always folds.
@Conotocaurious1@SockbatReplica@RichardHanania So what, the Darien Gap is jumped in 2022 and everyone should just give up because that means "containment is breached"?
The plans were to stop it in Mexico. This included closing the border to Mexican cattle under Trump.
But as always, he folded to the market.
@AnonymousSulla@tracewoodgrains The contracts were to stop it in Mexico, nobody says it just breached the Darien Barrier.
(It's also not a thing spread by humans, really)
@SquidMechanicus@MinModulation Eradicated in the US, not in total. Deacdes ago we spent megabux eradicating it down to the Darien Gap.
It jumped Darien during Covid and has been marching north since.
@dmoonglampers_@SkepticalGeol@HQNewsNow Because Grok is wrong? The actual full text does discuss the 2025 cancelation of a contract.
Grok can't see past the paywall on a log-in only piece.
