Tate DeRias visited Tread this summer with one goal: sharpen his arsenal and add more swing-and-miss. 🤺⁠

In-house with Performance Coach Paul Hall, he:⁠
⚡ Built a cutter up to 90 mph with added depth⁠
⚡ Re-shaped his changeup into a seam-shifted weapon (–2" IVB, 18" HB)⁠
⚡ Adjusted posture and glove height to unlock his unique low-slot fastball averaging 17–19" IVB with <15" HB⁠

The result: a much-improved arsenal heading into his sophomore season 📈

Tate DeRias came in-house with some arsenal goals, and a new cutter was born. ✂️ 

He needed more swing and miss (15.3 K% in 2025) and more consistent strike offerings. Working with @ph3performance, they developed a cutter that he ran up to 90 MPH.

With his new and improved cutter, @TateDerias looks to make a massive impact for Baseball America's pre-season 16th-ranked Hurricanes.
