Congrats to @babiesresearch on election to the National Academy of Medicine! As my K08 mentor, he reshaped how I think & do science—I owe a large part of my success to him. His influence spans generations of trainees now leading across pediatrics. https://t.co/H4ui1buDs7
@OpenBoxSci@CincyImmunology@CincyResearch@CatMPhelps@Pitt_PMI Excited to share that my graduate student Jake Stevens has been invited to speak at the Open Box Science Immunology Seminar Series! This is a wonderful recognition of his hard work and creativity in the lab. I’m really proud of all he’s accomplished.
Showcasing the impactful work across @URMed Neonatology and @URMed Pediatrics—advancing discovery, clinical care, and education to improve child health every day.

Dr. Laurie Steiner’s team at @URMed_GCH reports in Nature Communications that turning on BMI1 drives massive expansion of red blood cell precursors that still mature normally. Why it matters: safer, more reliable transfusions for our tiniest patients.

@CincyResearch@CELL Excited to share our new Cell paper led by UC MD/PhD students Jake Stevens & Erica Culberson: Antibiotics disrupt infant immunity by depleting inosine-producing gut microbes. Inosine restores T cell memory & flu resistance. 🧪🦠🫁

Bidding farewell to Erica Culberson as our lab relocates to Rochester. This exceptional MSTP student drove our upcoming Cell publication with her brilliance and dedication! Though we're sad to see her go, we're incredibly proud of her work and excited for her future.

Together, they highlight the critical need for translational studies directly in preterm populations to develop targeted interventions. #NeonatalImmunology. Congratulations @LizaKonnikova.
New study by Konnikiva Lab shows extremely premature infants have distinct immune development trajectories. Their findings on T cell dysfunction after chorioamnionitis complements @BrodinPetter's landmark study showing how term/preterm infants initially differ but converge later.
Honorable @sjaishankaroffc and @DrSJaishankar. Our friend, who is an OCI, had an unfortunate and untimely demise in a hiking accident in Columbia. His remains will be brought back to his home in Atlanta.
His mother #Chavan, Geeta Dynaneshwar and siblings # Chavan, Archana Dynaneshwar and # Chavan, Abhay Dynaneshwar who are Citizens of India, need to renew their Indian passports via Tatkal scheme to apply for emergency US visa.
Reposting this video from.@BastienFachan. It is also Fellowship Graduation week. Poignant, funny and inspiring graduation speech from @rogerfederer, an idol for past 2 decades. Hope this inspires and energizes all newly minted Neonatologist.
