How does obesity disrupt ILC2 function and adipose tissue hoemostasis?
In our latest study, we identify acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1) as a critical metabolic regulator of adipose ILC2 maintenance and function.
How does obesity disrupt ILC2 function and adipose tissue hoemostasis?
In our latest study, we identify acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1 (ACC1) as a critical metabolic regulator of adipose ILC2 maintenance and function.
We show that excess lipids in obesity suppress ACC1 in adipose ILC2s. Our findings also point towards an unexpected role of ACC1 in maintaining citrate shuttling and the NAD⁺/NADH balance.

It is time to celebrate 🍷🍻🥂
Honored to see our recent Nature study on neuro-epithelial circuits in anti-helminth immunity highlighted in this excellent News & Views. Many thanks to the authors @LabWilhelm for the thoughtful synthesis.

Lipid metabolism and redox balance are linked in type 2 immunity! We found that allergen-induced #ILC2s and #Th2 cells require cysteine-driven glutathione
synthesis to prevent #ferroptosis and
support #lipid metabolism and expansion of type 2 immune cells in #asthma.
Online now: Tolerance to ferroptosis facilitates lipid metabolism and pathogenic type 2 immunity in allergic airway inflammation https://t.co/jBwFYwo6fx
We are hiring! 📣Interested in how host metabolism, diets, #fasting and #ketogenesis affect the immune response? 👇We are offering a #postdoc position to work on the interplay of host metabolism and immunity. Apply by email or DM directly.
Thanks so much DFG for funding our CRC #1454 #Metaflammtion for another 4 years. Looking forward to unravel the immune mechanisms underlying #obesity and #diabetes together with an excellent team of scientists. @UniBonn@ImmunoSens
Einzelheiten:
