Yesterday, Saturday 24th Aug, I, with my State Secretary , State Deputy Chairmen, The State Woman Leader and the LP State Youth Leader, had a crucial meeting with my LG Chairmen. We continue to recharge for tasks ahead of us.
As the main opposition Party, we are not relenting.
The efforts of the Nigeria Youths to birth a New Nigeria shall not be in vain. It shall not be a fruitless journey. Our struggle is real and shall be rewarded with victory over corruption and the moral decadence found in our present government.

**The Role of Leadership in Times of Crisis**
Leadership, especially in times of crisis, is not about managing the status quo.
To truly understand this topic we must first realign our mindset on the true definition of
what a leader should be.
The decay in the moral fabric in our society has impacted negatively on the minds of
the younger generation.
Lack of genuine and effective leadership permeates into every facet of our lives and its
effects are felt in every aspect of our society.
Should we talk about how the economy affects our women in terms of a lack of
opportunities for them to thrive and contribute to the well being of the home, or should
we talk about our young women who have turned to a life of prostitution all in the name
of making money just to survive?
We hear of billions being budgeted annually in so called government training programs
for women. programs that enrich the so called trainers and don’t have any effect
whatsoever on the economic output of our women.
As the leader of a political party, I often hear the term My Leader..My Leader and I often
look at the person being called a leader and I wonder to myself how we got to this stage
in Nigeria.
A person with no moral values, no integrity, looters of public funds being called leaders
because of the crumbs they can afford to dole out to these young people.
The youth, who make up a significant portion of our population, bear the brunt of our
leadership challenges.
With rising unemployment rates, limited access to quality education, and the increasing
cost of living, our young people face a future filled with uncertainty.
This is not just an economic issue; it is a social crisis that threatens the very fabric of
our society.
Let us take an example from a certain social media personality called Dan Bello whose
criticism of government and especially the elite has drawn a lot of attention recently.
He is a PhD holder teaching in China at the primary school equivalent level. A PhD
holder teaching young kids, that goes to show you how intentional that country is about
giving the kids proper education and mentorship that starts right from their childhood.
Can you just imagine the quality of education those children are getting at their
formative years?
We need to start prioritising education and proper mentorship from a very young age
and instilling good moral values in the coming generation not only by teaching them but
also by showing them in our words and actions.
Those societies realise that the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the
backbone of today.
They are the innovators, the entrepreneurs, the change-makers who have the potential
to drive our nation forward.
However, in the face of an economic downturn, their potential is often stifled by lack of
opportunities, underemployment, and a system that does not fully cater to their needs
and aspirations.
As we confront these economic challenges, we must ask ourselves: What kind of future
are we building for our youth?
Are we providing them with the tools they need to succeed, or are we leaving them to
navigate these difficult times on their own?
As leaders, it is our responsibility to create an environment where young people can
thrive, even in the face of adversity.
The Labour Party believes that leadership in this context means taking bold actions to
address the root causes of youth unemployment, investing in education and skills
development, and creating pathways for young people to participate meaningfully in the
economy.
We must also advocate for policies that protect our youth from exploitation and ensure
that they have access to the resources they need to build a better future.
Let us lead with purpose, with compassion, and with a steadfast commitment to the
empowerment of our youth.
Being a leader is a heavy moral burden. You have to be above par in every single area
of both your public and private life. Remember our youths watch
