The Armour of Light archive likes to remember war through faces and stance. Even a battle still like this feels less about spectacle than survival, ecstasy and fulfilling destiny. Battles are fought for different reasons - each equally valid.
Arthur Pendragon is the fallen king whose blood, sword, and legacy still shape Bretunia long after Camelot begins to fail. But the legend takes on a new form - one where the action goes beyond Bretunia into Erets, and the stakes are much higher!

The mace relied on blunt force rather than a sharpened cutting edge. Clerics and knights sometimes preferred it because it could crush armour effectively. Flanged designs concentrated impact onto smaller points, causing devastating injuries in close combat.
An earlier version of the game envisaged under Camelot Legends was the isometric 2D view where characters move around in these rectangles. Years later, I still think there is a charm to using this 2D-overhead iso method to conjure up how battles may look like.
